Step 2: Follow the rules when telling your story

In order to present, students were asked to follow these rules:

1) Turn on their webcam

2) Show their full body.

3) Do not read the story script

4) Take a screenshot of the presenter (to upload to the jamboard).

Congratulations on your work! You had time to do research and teach at the same time, I wish I could have some more time for writing and sharing. You are adding value to my lessons, I will definitely use jamboard for peer feedback; my main tools for feedback, board, and collaboration have been Google Docs and Google Slides, it works for me. By the way, I came by here because I listened to the talk on the flipped classroom. Thanks for sharing!

If you can sympathize, you've got to check out Google's Jamboard app. Jamboard (jamboard.google.com) is a physical device -- an interactive touchscreen display/monitor, and it's pricey. But thankfully, the app that runs on those interactive displays is a teacher's favorite price -- FREE!

I am a BC Calculus teacher and would like to know how a student can show me a handwritten homework problem she has already done at home on jamboard or is there another way to see that virtually without having to write it out again? We are using zoom meetings and are on canvas.

A reading recovery teacher I deeply admire (Hi Trina!) taught me about how we can have kids read HF words in isolation, then match those words in context. It has been part of my brick and mortar shared reading for years now, but jamboard makes it so easy virtually. I have been putting my books onto jamboard (using the app on my phone has made it VERY easy. Just open the app on your phone and use the camera function to drop it right in). Then using the post-it function I have placed the HF words to the side on different colored post-its. First we read the HF words, then we find them in the text and drag the post it over to cover it:

This post was first shared in our GSD Ed. Tech. Monthly Newsletter for Teachers, authored and curated by Teresa Bruin, Educational Technology Team Leader. (Link: -ed-tech-newsletter/2020-archives/november-2020/jamboard-and-google-classroom-integration)

Google Jamboard can be accessed from a downloadable app on iTunes and Google Play. On computers featuring touchscreen monitors, you can also visit jamboard.google.com to access the web-based version.

5. The tools available in a Jamboard are located on the left side of the screen. They are, from top to bottom, a pen (you can change the color and the quality of the marks created), an eraser, a pointer, sticky notes (colorful notes you can type text on and move around), images (you can upload images to the jamboard), shapes, text boxes, and a laser pointer (which makes temporary lines that can allow you to emphasize other elements on the Jamboard). e24fc04721
