An outdoor security camera can keep tabs on welcome (and unwelcome) visitors, package deliveries, and furry creatures helping themselves to a midnight snack in your garden. They can also be a powerful deterrent to prospective mischief-makers.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Plug-In Wi-Fi camera comes with a lengthy, weather-resistant power cord, but it can also be powered by battery or a solar panel. It delivers crisp, 1080p video with an expansive 130-degree view and clear two-way audio. By signing up for a Ring Protect Basic plan ($4 per month or $40 per year), you can store recordings for up to 60 days, and it also enables features like person alerts, the option to save videos, and thumbnail-enhanced smartphone notifications. Also, despite some previous issues, Ring now provides more privacy and security measures than any other camera manufacturer we tested.

How Do I Download Wifi Camera

For testing, we connect all cameras to our Verizon Fios network via a Wi-Fi router indoors (approximately 40 feet from the cameras) and our upgrade-pick mesh-networking kit, the Asus ZenWiFi AX (XT8). We used an iPhone 12, a Google Pixel 7 Pro, and an iPad to review the cameras and their companion apps. And we used an Echo Show 5, a Google Nest Hub, and an Apple TV to see how each camera can be controlled via third-party apps and viewed on smart screens.

Audio and video please the eye and ear. The Arlo Pro 4 produced some of the best images of any outdoor camera we tested. It records 2K video and has a wide, 160-degree viewing angle. The two-way audio was easy to understand on both ends.

A number of cameras we have tested were plagued by false alerts, including the Tapo C310 Smart Outdoor Home Security WiFi 2K Camera and the Tapo C320WS Smart Outdoor Home Security WiFi 2K QHD 4MP Camera.

Hello,I have gone through both this reddit and the r/homesecurity subreddit and this particular combination of features in a security camera seems challenging to find. Many of the threads are months/years old and dated on newer models.

I can find wifi + onvif, I can find PoE + onvif, but not solar + wifi + onvif to work with Zoneminder. I'm seeking an entirely wireless solution. My other option may be to DIY a battery/solar bank but this can be clumsy.

I have been clicking on every camera on Amazon that has this combination of features and reading through and seemingly, all of them require a proprietary app. I have been going through the answered questions, and each one has some kind of app that is required to connect. I bought the OOSSXX cameras and ran into the issue I'm having here where they removed any means to connect remotely and only allow for their solar camera to connect through their system.

I use a Revolution Imager connected to a WiFi backup camera adapter / transmitter. This sends the WiFi signal / live image to my iPhone or iPad. There is an app to watch the live video feed. This is great for outreach to share the telescope view.

A camera with built-in computer, battery, wifi transmitter, and accompanying mobile app would be an interesting product. You would just need to provide your own telescope, focal-reduction, means to focus, and find the target. If the product was part of an "ecosystem" that also allowed talking to the mount via wifi, you could add in GOTO with plate-solving. If the ecosystem could "talk to" an auto-focuser, that could be done as well. I wonder if the power requirements, though, may be too much for a battery added to the camera itself.

Instead of building all this into the camera, how about we put all of this into it's own box, and that way we can just use different cameras with it... sometimes mono, or OSC, maybe bigger pixels, or smaller pixels... you know depending on if your doing planetary or deep sky... more options... it seems more economical to end user to buy all this other tech once, and use different cameras with it, instead of paying for all that tech in each and every camera...

This blog above may not completely finished as they are currently publishing what i sent to them. Keep in mind this is not a dedicated astro camera has of course has limited exposure etc...and will not do really dark nebulas and galaxies but does a pretty good job on everything else. See some sample images in my blog and cool info on the WIFI capability of this new camera.

Honestly for the price yeah it is pretty good. I really like not having wires. Unless you have a cooled astro camera or want to hook up your heavy SLR camera this WIFI camera really does fit a real nitch in my astronomy arsonal pretty good. Please read my review when you get a sec...

They have updated my review as up to yesterday it was not complete. There were many images and content missing there initially. Also keep in mind these images are with really small cheap entry level telescopes I am sure with a larger aperature and better optical telescope you can even get better results.

Holy cow! Very nice I am impressed. The Svbony Sc001 wifi camera works very well with the C6. Lots of detail considering the format saved - JPG and MPG (which have artifacts). Not bad at all. I cant wait to see your other images from the refractor and lunt solar telescope. You have to confess not having the wires to trip over is nice. Great job!

Hi Robodan I dont know anything about that wifi camera. Off aliexpress right? be careful is it a microscope cam or a telescope cam? (the attachment interface is different for each) and maybe focus....

Trouble is most of these wifi cams are not geared for EAA other than moon or planets. For EAA the best is Sharpcap and this cannot be used with wifi cameras unless you can connect directly with a usb cable, useless for EAA.

Agreed to be fair they cost almost nothing. You can hook it up to sharpcap actually with the usb cable provided (like any other camera). The problem is most of the settings are automatic and greyed out but it does workwith sharpcap. You can also install a program called bluestacks (android emulator) on your computer and install the svbony camera app and use it like that as well hooking your computer wifi to it. Works as well. Haha I still want to see a few images with this camera hooked up to the lunt telescope when there are some solar flares and sunspots can you take some please? I have a feeling they will be real good....cheers

The way i get wifi is use my laptop and use remote desktop with either my qhy 183 or asi 385. Connect everything though laptop abf can control thr lot with my ipad, or phone mirrored to 65" tv. Far better thsn any wifi camera as i can use sharpcap on the fly

True you can do that but I am just saying this cheap wifi camera can do all that as well (pretty flexible). I does it pretty good actually. I have hooked it up to my android box attached to the TV as well and the image was pretty good.

Hi,

I imagine the Svbony SC001 is fun to experiment with, and very affordable.

Would it be possible to use the SC001 as wifi-camera sensor instead as camera on its whole?

It is supposed to replace the eyepiece.

From what I understood it behaves like a 5 or 6mm ocular lens.

It has a removable filter threaded on.

In front of the camerasensor is a lens, or lens-cell.

Did anyone investigate the feasability of this, having hands on a Svbony SC001 ?

There isn't a spot in Octoprint (that I have found) to integrate a camera that requires credentials. Maybe I'm missing some simple button, but, I don't think there would be a way to do this without some sort of plugin to allow for credentials to be entered BY Octoprint before you could achieve what you are attempting. And then add to it the existence of the control buttons (that also don't exist in Octoprint) adds yet another layer of complication

Our 2K / 4MP Outdoor Waterproof Wi-Fi Camera is designed to capture images and transmit them directly to your Ambient Weather Network (AWN) dashboard, iOS, or Android app for social media posting or sharing. The camera does not have live stream or video capabilities. View your favorite weather images with weather data overlays and time-lapse video for the last 24 hours. This is not a standalone device and must be used with an Ambient Weather Station. Upgrade to a Silver or Gold Tier Enhanced Camera Subscription to access HD or Full HD time-lapse video with up to 60-day storage.

Upgrade your resolution to stunning HD or Full HD for more vivid images, increase time-lapse refresh and sampling rates, and access increased 30 or 60-day storage space, so no sunset goes uncaptured. And get even more value from powerful data insights directly on your camera dashboard.

Only problem is that we have an IP-outdoor camera (not TP-link but Foscam) and this camera only works via 2,4 Ghz wifi. However, I cannot connect the camera to the Deco, because when I check the connection via my phone (I have to connect the camera through the app on my phone) the Deco shows only connection via 5.0.

I also tried to link the previous wifi-extender (Netgear WN2500) which worked with the camera to the Deco (not an ideal situation but if this would work with the camera, ok) but I cannot connect the Netgear to the Deco, I also tried with a lan-cable between the two. 2351a5e196
