You may have snapped thousands of photos on your Android phone over the years. Maybe you're preparing to wipe your old phone to trade it in for a new Samsung Galaxy or just want to look at your photos on a big screen instead of the little black slab in your hand. No problem. You can transfer your photos to your Windows computer in a few different ways.

If you use a music app like Spotify or iTunes, you can download songs you've paid for on your computer from the website. For iOS users, import your downloaded music to iTunes to sync your iPhone and Mac libraries.

The steps above will copy photos from your iPhone camera roll and photos added by iTunes. If you're interested in copying pictures included in your text messages, iMessages and WhatsApp messages, try reading our How to transfer photos from iPhone messages article for more information.

If you need to copy all photos from your iPhone to your Mac, including photos on your camera roll, images added to your device by iTunes, as well as pictures included in youriPhone messages, we recommend using TouchCopy. TouchCopy also allows you to access other data on your iPhone, including your music, contacts and messages, and copy it to your Mac. Let's see how:

If you'd like to transfer photos from your Android phone to your PC over Wifi, we recommend Droid Transfer. The app will also copy other data from your Android phone, including music, contacts and messages. Here's how to transfer photos from phone to laptop or PC over WiFi:

If you regularly back up your Android photos to PC, we recommend using Droid Transfer's "Save New Photos" feature. This will automatically scan the Android when you connect it for new photos which you haven't backed up to the PC before. Then, you can easily and quickly save these photos to the computer. Transferring files from your Android phone to a Mac can be a little more difficult. For this type of transfer, we would recommend using Android File Transfer. Once installed on your Mac, you'll be able to connect your Android phone to the Mac, and copy files from the device to the Mac.

If you find yourself regularly transferring photos from your phone to your computer, you may want to consider using a cloud service. Cloud storage services store your data in "the cloud" (an external server). This is great, because you can then link your computer and multiple devices to your cloud account which allows you to access all of the data at any time, on any device. Thinking about photos specifically, you can set your phone up to store any photos you take in your cloud storage, so that they're not taking up loads of space on your device.

Your antivirus software is designed to protect your computer from malicious malware, however it can also prevent your phone or tablet from being able to export photos to your computer. Check your software to make sure this isn't causing you problems.

Emailing pictures from a smartphone is quite simple. You will normally use two apps, one for the email and one for browsing your gallery of pictures. If you are using an Android phone, you can use the Outlook or Gmail app and the Photos app (or any other photo gallery app that you use to see photos in your phone). If you are using an iPhone, you will be using the Outlook or Mail app and the Photos App.

The easiest way to move your photos from your Android phone to your Windows PC is to use the Photos app that comes pre-loaded in Windows 10. With the Photos app, you can import all of your photos, or just some of them, and choose the folder where you want them transferred to, so you know where to find them later.

The default app for photos on many Android phones is the Google Photos app, which you can set up to backup all of your photos and videos to Google Photos online. (You'll find that option in the Google Photos app by tapping your account profile photo or initial, selecting Photos settings > Backup & sync, and tapping "Backup & sync" on.) Here's how to download photos on Google Photos to your computer.

Have a T-Mobile REVVL 5G. I use the photo transfer feature, to file Explorer/REVVL 5G/Internal shared storage./DCIM/Camera.(In window 11) Will say file is empty or when I do get pictures drag and drop a blank square/ I have a lot of pictures on the phone camera. I was able to work it one time and no more.

i followed the instructions above and my settings has no reference to anything to do with USB or transferring anything from the phone.

I searched every line of every title in settings even the seemingly irrelevant ones.

On Windows: Windows treats Android phones like any other camera, so when you plug your phone into your computer, Windows will ask you what to do, just as it would if you plugged in your digital camera. You can peruse the actual files in Windows Explorer, have Windows Explorer import all the photos for you, or use another program to import the photos, like the Windows 8 Photo Viewer app.

The Gallery app also lets you upload your photos to your Google Drive, so you can get at them from anywhere. If you install the Google Drive app on your Mac or PC, you can have your photos and other files automatically sync to your computer.

Dropbox is another good option for getting photos off of your phone: Install the Dropbox client on all your computers and devices, and it will sync files in your Dropbox to everything. You can pick and choose the photos you want to upload by installing the free Dropbox app for Android, which is useful if you want to pick and choose which photos you want to get off your phone.

On Windows 11, the Phone Link app is an app that allows you to connect your Android phone (and now also your iPhone in a more limited fashion) to your computer to send and receive text messages, make and receive calls, access notifications, control features, and access your pictures gallery.

As part of the ability to access your images, the Phone Link app allows you to share pictures and videos from your phone to your computer, removing the extra steps of emailing files to yourself or using cables to connect the phone to your computer.

Before sharing files to your computer from your phone, you must set up the Phone Link experience. The app should already be available on Windows 11, but you can always download it from the Microsoft Store.

I plugged my phone into a computer at work to upload photos using a USB, then unplugged it. I only uploaded the photos I needed, however, could they somehow see the photos I didn't upload on the computer even when I unplugged the USB after I was done? If it helps, my phone is an iPhone 5s, and I used iTunes to upload these photos off of my phone into a folder on the computer.

Of course I have a USB data cable, so I inserted one end of the cable to the phone and the other to a USB 3.0 port on the computer, to connect the phone to the computer, and selected "Transfer Files" in the prompt, and started copying the files using Windows Explorer:

Your phone also supports USB On-The-Go, which allows you to directly connect a USB disk to the phone and move files to it. (It might not be able to provide enough power for a 2.5" HDD, but you should be able to use a portable SSD or a high-capacity USB stick.) Later you can move the files from the USB SSD to your computer in a few minutes.

Your technical difficulty suggests you don't have full ownership of the end to end chain, maybe that just means it is a work (school) computer you should not be using. So assuming it is your phone, card is the way to go.

What I do when faced with this situation is to transfer the files overnight over WiFi. There are some apps that specialise in this, but most are proprietary and kinda complicated. So I just have an app that speaks SMB (file protocol used for network folders) and move files to a network location on my home WiFi - you can make it as simple as share a folder on the network from your Windows PC or have a dedicated NAS set up. The app I am currently using is called Cx File Explorer and I can just select the files/folders I want to move, select "move", then navigate to the network location (needs to be added first in the app) and select "paste". It does things in the background and you can just have the phone next to your bed overnight instead of having to babysit it.

I recently a bag with a lot of old flip phones that had family pictures. The flip phone giving me the most trouble is the Sanyo PM-8200. This phone has no bluetooth, no wifi, and no SD card slot or SIM slot. Additionally, i have connected the phone to my PC and it does not even show up as a device, it only charges. I have heard of a software called BitPim which is supposed to read the files on old phones, but the program does not seem to work on my computer. Is there any way to transfer the photos or is there a company that could do it for me?

Have you confirmed the cable you are using to connect the phone to laptop is a data cable? I have had a few of these that came with just charge cable but when I found a data cable it loaded drivers for a camera and was able to move pictures over. but can't remember if it was same model.

Bryan Jlov good and we did not know you already had the cable. So all you are looking for is the program that connects the phone to the computer. Something that uses a 64 bit OS Let's see what we can find out. See if these steps work for your phone. ff782bc1db
