Why would etsy do this? If a buyer doesn't want to review an item, they shouldn't have to. We already get notifications in our email. If a buyer can't take this notification down and they feel obligated to review just to get the number to go away, I don't believe they will be in the best of mood when reviewing.

its so awful! I keep a close watch for messages coming in and this has totally messed me up. I tried to clear all of my 33 up but they want a review for every single item, and 5 words - I lost interest. I'm not going to buy with my seller account any more which makes it more awkward. Messages in etsy are so important for both seller and buyer - such a stupid 'improvement'

How Do I Download My Purchases From Etsy

I did the exact same thing except mine was double yours - 209!! FYI, AliExpress has reviews, but you have the right to review all items from the shop, not every individual item. So for example, I bought 7 different sterling silver charms from a store. I want to say they are all fantastic but it does not give me that option. I have to review them one by one. SERIOUSLY???? At least reviews from a single store or from a single purchase from a store should be ONE review, not each and every one independently.

My Review your purchases notification said 2. I left the one review for the one that refunded and never canceled. But there's another notification dangling there for an item being shipped from Lithuania that hasn't been delivered yet. Therefore I can't review yet. So now I have to stare at that notification for weeks or months on end. This is the WORST spot to put these notifications with the messages. Please remove or move this feature etsy!!!

I recently purchased from a shop and wanted to leave a review as the seller was wonderful and I wanted to say as much. However the product I purchased is not showing up in the purchases tab along with things that I've bought previously and it's been a few weeks since I made the purchase. It's not a huge deal if I can't leave a review but I'd definitely like to say thanks. Do I just need to wait it out or am I doing something wrong? The answers I've found to this problem haven't been helpful either.

What would you do if you registered on a site to buy something, only to find months later that your user account was searchable and your purchases were exposed? That scenario is currently playing out for Etsy users, who are dealing with the fallout from Etsy's decision to roll out a new People Search tool. The site, dedicated to enabling crafters and artisans to sell their work online, has yet to notify its user base of the change that exposes users' real names and, via their profile pages, anything they have purchased and left feedback on.

With this move, Etsy has hopped onto the Beacon roller coaster, and it may be too late to get off. By automatically opting in every user ever registered to the new system, Etsy is likely just one especially outraged user away from facing its own set of lawsuits and FTC investigations.

Etsy's seller base has voiced concern that the changes could violate privacy laws, but Etsy has not issued any sort of official response to the outcry. Those who do have accounts on Etsy can remove their real names from their profile pages, and there's also a way to make your purchase history private (Your Account > Settings > Privacy). However, most account holders aren't even aware of the change in the first place, and they're not likely to change their settings without some sort of prompt.

Rob has responded to an e-mail from me about this article. He writes: "Right, it was the 'mixture of scenarios' [the ability to search buyers and then find their feedback history] that created the situation. In any event, we escalated this issue and addressed it."

Etsy is a popular e-commerce website where customers can find handmade gifts, craft supplies, and vintage items from independent sellers. Items are often customizable and made to order, lending a personal touch to any gift, and purchases benefit small businesses.

This will give you instructions about suspending your account temporarily, or deleting it permanently, which is done from the privacy tab. (Click here for a more in-depth article about deleting an Etsy account.)

In this type of internet scam, an Etsy scammer advertises a product that's of a much higher quality than what they end up shipping to you. Some scammers sell fake branded products using images stolen from genuine manufacturers.

For example, you may receive a phishing email claiming to be from Etsy customer service. The email is carefully crafted to deceive you into revealing your login credentials, giving the scammer unauthorized access to your account.

Similar to counterfeit product scams, bait-and-switch scams are a type of Etsy fraud where the product you receive is wildly different from what you ordered. Often, the same items are sold across the internet for much lower prices, with Etsy scammers marking them up as supposedly handmade items.

Be very suspicious if a seller tries to redirect you to an external website to complete a transaction. Aside from falling victim to Etsy fraud, visiting unsafe websites can compromise your security and privacy in other ways, too.

A great way to help protect yourself from online scams is by using a security solution like Norton 360 Deluxe. This comprehensive software not only includes advanced antivirus and malware protection, it also features a built-in VPN to encrypt your connection and help you browse and shop more securely.

Yes, Etsy is generally safe. They use various security measures to help protect sellers and buyers. However, be sure to make purchases only through the platform and stay on the lookout for potential scams.

For example: If the processing time for an item you purchased is 3-5 days, and the transit time for the shipping method you chose is usually 2-4 days, your estimated delivery date is 5-9 days from today.

In one example, a former Etsy seller had her account hacked after scammers discovered her old email address password and used it to request a password reset. Once they had access to her account, they tried to intercept funds from recent sales and change her email address to lock her out of her account [*].

Home dcor is by far the most popular category on Etsy, with jewelry and accessories coming up as a distant second. The home dcor category spans a variety of items and prices, ranging from digital downloads of decorative prints, to furniture, bedding, and silverware.

Few stocks benefited more from the darkest days of the pandemic than Etsy (ETSY). Consumers and creators hunkering down at home flocked to the online crafts marketplace. Revenue, and ETSY stock, soared.

So where does ETSY go from here? Some analysts argue that the painful selloff in Etsy stock is overdone. Others contend that rising prices and looming recession make ETSY a bad idea at this moment in the cycle.

Etsy's days of extraordinary top-line growth are long gone, that's for sure. Annual revenue more than doubled during the first year of the pandemic, soaring to $1.7 billion in 2020 from $818.4 million the prior year. Revenue increased by another 35% in 2021.

Earnings per share (EPS) followed a similar trend, and they too have stalled out. The Street forecasts Etsy to generate adjusted EPS of $4.33 in 2023, or a decline of more than 6% from the $4.61 a share it earned last year.

"User metrics show that Etsy is retaining most of the gains achieved during COVID-19, positioning it well for a more normalized setting," Squali writes in a note to clients. The analyst adds that the guidance Etsy offered when it reported earnings in early May was "appropriately conservative given potential risks to consumer spending from high inflation, rising rates, a weak macroeconomic environment and [unfavorable] foreign exchange."

"Etsy is an innovative company with a compelling business model, and a huge addressable market, that saw a tremendous benefit from shopping at home and economic stimulus, as well as from its sellers' enterprising ability to fill an unprecedented demand for COVID masks," writes Argus Research analyst Chris Graja.

"The change in the macro environment has caused investors to become more conservative in their assumptions," Gaja says. "We have probably seen a shift in Etsy's investor base from aggressive growth investors to growth-at-a-reasonable-price investors, who may use lower assumptions for long-term growth."

Yet the platform is growing, and Etsy has a good shot at boosting annual earnings with help from rising buyer fees. Against that mixed backdrop, let's take a fresh look at whether the stock is a buy today.

And Etsy's profit margins are moving in the wrong direction. A 14% spike in operating expenses last quarter helped push net profit down to 12% of sales from 15% a year ago. eBay enjoys a far higher margin of more than 22% of sales, in contrast. The bullish thesis for Etsy's stock sees the company eventually matching or surpassing its peers on profitability. To date, there's little evidence to suggest it can achieve this ambitious goal.

There's no question that the stock's valuation is much more reasonable today. Investors can buy Etsy for roughly 4 times annual sales, down from a recent high of over 15. Yet the stock is still valued at a premium compared to eBay, and there's a chance the valuation will decline further if there's continued delay in management's rebound hopes. e24fc04721
