How Do I Download Apple Homekit

2 months. apple no fix, hue stopped responding to me. freaking awesome. $400 worth of worthless product. I dont understand how they haven't developed a fix for this yet? why not just roll it back to the version that worked?

Agree. I feel cheated. I bought my ring pro elites in 2019 on the promise of native homekit integration. Not buying a single ring product more until this has been implemented. Now I am running a homebridge, but for live view it often gives the no response message with no other homekit appliance in my house doing so and I have 7 other security cameras, who are not ring. And yes, I would probably have bought ring instead had homebridge been integrated.

The downside to homekit though is that it does limit some of the capabilities of the cameras. Homekit does record video to your iCloud account but it restricts/disables some of the settings of the camera to make it compatible with homekit. If youre ok with using the activity zones in homekit, then I say go for it.

Honestly, it comes down to what you want your Eufy setup to do. Like I said, the only reason I added homekit was because of the geofencing but you might just have to add all of your hardware to homekit to see what you like or dont like about it.

I just bought the eufycam 2 as well, and I have been using it with the eufy app and homekit.

My main gaol is to stick just with homekit, but there is something important you loose in my opinion, Alarm sound from the homebase and cameras.

I would like my cameras to trigger the alarm at night if they pick HUMAN movement. The problem is that you cant set the cameras to ONLY pick HUMAN in teh eufy app movement if you are using homekit secure video.

You can set the cameras to only set human movement in the Homekit app, but you want be able to trigger the alarm.

Yup, definitely. You can use any or all of homekit, google home and alexa if you choose, using the metadata setup posted above. For example I use multiple echos/alexas as voice agents in the house and garage. Homekit is configured as well to allow me to get reliable presence status and also to show status updates in carplay like when the garage door opens and closes.
