I am aware that iPhones are difficult to hack and get malware, viruses, etc. About my situation. I was looking for an old Russian series that I couldn't find anywhere else. So searched Google for sites about it. Went to one where the entire page was full of popups and took me to other pages. Did not click on anything but was just present. Can there be something downloaded in the background without you noticing something like that? I deleted the website data afterwards.

I DID follow DTLows post and can see that you can do a switcheroo and take one device out and put one in. My point is that I foresee Evernote closing this loophole and somehow enforcing the rule of ONLY 2 devices. Take one out and they may impose a time limit or some other such mechanism that will keep you from switching it back in.

@Rootman - Another 'work around' which I don't see Evernote being able to stop: you could always have a new basic account on your third computer and share notebooks from it to your current account, and vice-versa. All your devices would have access to all notebooks. But it's pointless worrying about what else Evernote will restrict - just deal with the current situation. Cross new bridges if and when they appear - you're never going to have any blanket guarantee that Evernote won't curtail features again...

My iphone wont make calls anymore from websites phone numbers. It used to without any issue, then I received a message asking if I wanted to allow or block the call - I pressed allow but nothing happened. Now my phone just freezes when I try to call a number from a website. I saw others recommended to erase safari settings on the phone which I did, but that didnt help. Nothing seems to work - any ideas why this is happening?

Creating a bookmark on your Home screen lets you use it as a one-tap portal to access specific online content, instead of having to open a browser and then select a bookmark or type in a website's URL address.

When you tap a website bookmark on your Home screen, it opens in Safari on the specific page you selected. If the site you're linking to has a dynamic mobile-friendly layout, accessing it from your Home screen can even become an app-like experience.

You could have the most technologically advanced firewall and anti-virus on your iPhone, but at the end of the day, humans are the most important line of defense. Over 90% of cyber attacks stem from a phishing e-mail.

The home screen on your smartphone or tablet isn't just a place where your apps live. You can also add shortcuts to websites. Here's how to create an "app" for any website on your device, allowing you to access shortcuts directly from your home screen.

To add a website to the home screen on iPhone, open Safari and tap the share button. Choose "Add to Home Screen" from the menu. On Android, open Chrome, Edge, or Firefox and select "Add to Home Screen" or "Add to Phone" from the menu. The same process works for installing web apps.

Your Android phone, iPhone, or iPad home screen isn't just for apps. Whatever device you're using, you can add a website shortcut to the home screen for easy access. In some cases, you can even make the website work like an app.

Progressive web apps can be added to the iPhone and iPad home screen in the same way as regular websites, but they open in their own instance, like a native app. The process is the same as adding a website to the home screen.

Progressive web apps on Android can be "installed" in a similar way to native apps. When you "install" a web app from the browser, it opens in its own instance like a native app. Mozilla Firefox on Android cannot install web apps.

For websites you access often, this is a great time-saving trick. It's right up there with in-app home screen shortcuts as an undervalued feature. As more web apps become available, there's less of a need for native apps.

Anyone who needs to remember things in their daily life can benefit from Anki. Since it is content-agnostic and supports images, audio, videos and scientific markup (via LaTeX), the possibilities are endless.

 For example:

If you encounter bugs while running Anki from source, please check to see if you can reproduce them in the packaged version, as the Qt version or other libraries on your system can be the cause of some problems.

For the iPhone a mobile version seems to make sense as it's a much smaller screen real estate and especially for a real estate office, the user should be able to make instant calls through the website. As I understand, this is not possible for responsive html:

I've seen websites (eg Trulia) where the user gets served the m.trulia.com on iPhone and www.trulia.com on iPad through UA strings. I'm wondering if this is an easier method, as you should only build a mobile site for iPhone and thus wouldn't need different media queries for different mobile devices.

So I discovered this button a little while back, but I was really struck by how effectively it works today, so I thought I'd pass it on. What the button does is essentially removes all the non-core material from a web page. In some cases it reduces the web page to plain text, in other cases, like this one, it retains the core pictures as well as the text. On my phone this article was hard to read because the content was punctuated with so many ads. One press of the circled button, and suddenly it was total clean and easy to read again.

The percentage of Web hits coming from iPhones passed 0.2% in June and then dipped in the weeks that followed. But it peaked on August 23rd at a record high 0.48%, according to the new data, before drifting back last week.

As Gizmodo noted, the phone is still available on AT&T's Web site for customers in San Francisco, another area with loud complaints about the carrier's 3G service, and our experiments with ZIP codes near and far -- from Newark to Los Angeles -- all showed the phone available.

if I want to build a game for web, facebook, and iphone, do I need to build 3 completely different versions? I know there is a new company that is "build once, launch anywhere," but I'm asking about current best/practice and methodology in doing this. 2351a5e196
