Communication
Office hours: Meeting by appointment, or meet virtually (Skype, Google Hangout)
Office location: We do not have any class meetings on campus, so all individual and group meetings will be virtual (online)
Regular communication: Use iLearn forums (Open Forum for general questions) - the teachers strive to provide answers to questions within one "business day" (Monday - Friday)
Emergency or private communication: Click an instructor's name above to send an email (you MUST include "ITEC 299" in the subject, or we won't see it) - again, the teachers strive to provide answers to questions within one "business day" (within 24 hours, Monday through Friday)
Teacher participation
We are committed to being active members of this learning community!
Announcements: We will send announcements each week—1) a weekly kickoff on Mondays to outline the week ahead, 2) a mid-week motivation to give you a boost and 3) a weekend reminder on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning to remind you what's due Monday night. These messages will be sent via email and will be posted in the Announcements forum as an archive. We will repeat important announcements as a text message (via Remind.com) to anyone who signs up for this option.
Discussion forums: This is a large class! While we may not be able to reply to every one of you in every discussion forum every time, we are committed to equity. We will be keeping track of our replies throughout the semester so that every student will get equal attention and feedback from the teachers.
Assignments (e.g., essays): We will review essays with a rubric--a scoring guide that you will have in advance--and provide personalized feedback (written or video) about how you can improve on the next essay you submit.
