NISSAN AGREES TO COMPENSATE CATASTROPHICALLY INJURED TEXAS MAN
When a 2013 Altima was involved in an accident the passenger in its reclined front seat sustained a traumatic brain injury lacerated liver and spleen and numerous broken bones. A lawsuit filed against the cars manufacturer Nissan alleged that product defects were to blame and the litigation led to Nissan agreeing to compensate the passenger for his life altering injuries.
The passenger age 25 was wearing his seat belt when the Altima was contacted on the drivers side by a pickup and then traveled sideways into a traffic pole.
Rob Ammons claimed the Altima was flawed because its front passenger seat can be utilized in an dangerous reclined position while the automobile is in movement. This defect has brought about preventable injury to front seat individuals for many years says Ammons. It was also alleged that the Altimas seat belts do not maintain an occupant safely within a reclined seat in the eventuality of a collision and the side impact airbag does not shield a passenger sitting in a reclined seat.
The young man sought settlement for damages which included more than 300000 in past medical expenses and also projected future therapy and life care costs of 11 Million. The case was presented in the news - https: www.youtube.com watch?v=EwTWo3UJrKQ.

FORD PAYS AFTER F 150 ROOF COLLAPSE KILLS DRIVER
Rob Ammons secured compensation for the mother of a 19 year old gentleman who was killed when the roof of the 2006 Ford F 150 he was driving collapsed over him in a rollover accident.
In the lawsuit Ammons alleged that the F 150 was designed and manufactured by Ford 1 with a weak roof top structure that cannot withstand the pickups weight in rollover accidents and 2 without a roll activated safety canopyto offer injury prevention benefits. According to Ammons fatal injuries were inflicted when excessive crushing of the roof over the drivers seat and severe intrusion into the pickups safety cell nearly obliterated the young mans survival space.
Ammons contended that Ford vehicles once had solid roofs and they still may very well be if they were to include some or all of a number of safer alternative designs including increased metal gauge and component size Boron steel foam fillers internally reinforced parts hole elimination and improved element integration. Equipping the pickup truck with roll triggered side curtain air bags would supply occupants vital defense against head injuries even in the event of a collapsing roof. Fords own engineers proposed the safety feature be incorporated into its 2001 and later model year light pickup trucks but the recommendations were not heeded with respect to the 2006 F 150.
Ford has a Built Tough slogan yet chose to sell profitable F series pickups with profoundly vulnerable roofs to unsuspecting people. Its choice had harmful consequences when it took the life of my clients son who had recently completed high school with honors and had a bright future and long life ahead of him.

NAVISTAR PAYS AFTER LEAKING TIRE CAUSES FATAL TEXAS CRASH
The surviving wife children and parents of a 28 year old Louisiana man killed in a crash of the International brand truck tractor he occupied are being compensated by the trucks manufacturer.
As the truck traveled on a Texas street the rigs right front tire began leaking air ultimately causing the low pressure tire to fail and the truck to travel off the road enter a ditch and flip over. The man suffered bilateral leg amputations in the crash and was experiencing difficulty breathing. He was rushed to the medical center but died from his injuries.
In the wrongful death legal action filed by Rob Ammons on behalf of the family of the man who was killed it was claimed that the Navistar designed and created truck lacked a tire pressure monitoring system for its steer axle tires - a safety element that would have alerted the trucks users to the dangerous air leak in time to fix it and prevent the tire failure that brought on the fatal incident.
According to Ammons underinflated tires are responsible not only for offering a less than stable ride but are also far more susceptible to sidewall breakdowns than tires being run with correct air pressure. Auto manufacturers in the United States were required to include a tire pressure monitoring system TPMS in their vehicles by 2007. While the technology and benefits of TPMS would certainly also apply to large commercial vehicles many manufacturers only offer TPMS as an option. Of course the lack of a regulation does not relieve a producer of its duty to generate a vehicle which is as safe as is technologically and economically feasible.
Given the known risk posed by underinflated tires the failure of Navistar to include TPMS as standard equipment on its truck tractors is definitely inexcusable and was the actual cause of this young family mans untimely and wrongful death.
The compensation being provided to the mans survivors is in response to their claims for the loss of his love comfort companionship and society the loss of support and services he provided to the household and for the mental anguish they have suffered and will continue to suffer as a result of his death.
