Hourbase is a volunteer-hour tracking application designed to help users record, organize, manage, and review their volunteer service history.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Hourbase collects, how that information is used, how it is stored, and the choices users have regarding their information.
By using Hourbase, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Hourbase mobile application and does not apply to third-party websites or services except as described below.
Hourbase collects information that users provide directly, along with limited technical information required for the app to function.
When you create or sign in to an Hourbase account, we collect your email address.
Hourbase uses Supabase Authentication for secure email and password sign-in. We use your email address to:
Create your account
Authenticate your account
Send password reset emails
Send account verification emails when applicable
These emails are transactional and are required for account security.
Hourbase does not currently support social sign-in providers.
Hourbase allows users to create and manage volunteer-hour records.
Depending on what you enter, this information may include:
Volunteer activity title
Organization or event name
Date of service
Number of volunteer hours
Category
Activity description
Volunteer log status (Draft, Logged, Archived)
User-created labels or categories
Notes and other information you choose to enter
This information is collected solely to provide Hourbase's volunteer-hour tracking features.
Hourbase allows users to optionally attach supporting documentation to volunteer logs.

Screenshots
PDFs
Certificates
Other supporting files
When proof is uploaded, Hourbase may store:
Uploaded files
File names
File types
File sizes
Upload timestamps
Proof notes
Storage identifiers or URLs required to retrieve the files
Proof files are stored using Supabase Storage.
Users are responsible for ensuring uploaded documents do not contain unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Hourbase cannot guarantee that any school, nonprofit, scholarship program, or other organization will accept uploaded proof.
Hourbase may request access to your device’s location when you choose to search for nearby volunteer opportunities.
You may choose to allow location access once, allow access while using the app, or deny access. Location access is optional, and nearby-search features may be limited if permission is not granted.
Hourbase uses location information only to help identify volunteer opportunities near you. Hourbase does not use location information for advertising, does not sell location data, and does not use location information to track you across other apps or websites.
You can change your location permissions at any time through your device settings.
Also, in App Store Connect, declaring Precise Location is appropriate if the nearby-search feature uses the device’s exact location.
Hourbase processes limited technical information necessary for normal app operation, including:

Database requests
Security-related information
Device identifiers required by Supabase services
Hourbase does not currently use:
Third-party analytics platforms
Crash-reporting services
Advertising SDKs
Behavioral tracking technologies

Hourbase uses Resend solely for transactional emails, including:

Users should protect their passwords and avoid storing unnecessary sensitive information in volunteer logs or uploaded documents.
Hourbase is intended for users aged 13 years or older.
Hourbase does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we become aware that information has been collected from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Users are responsible for all information they submit to Hourbase.

Volunteer activity names
Organization names
Descriptions
Categories
Notes
Uploaded proof
Users should not submit content that:
Contains unnecessary sensitive personal information
Belongs to another person without permission
Violates laws or organizational rules
Is false or misleading
Is harmful or inappropriate
Hourbase reserves the right to restrict access or remove content when necessary to comply with applicable law or protect users.
Hourbase may include links to third-party services.
This Privacy Policy applies only to Hourbase.
Users should review the privacy policies of any third-party services they choose to access.
Hourbase:
