Student of the Week

Each week one student will be randomly picked to be our Student of the Week. When your child is picked on Friday, I will send home an information sheet that needs to be completed and returned on Monday. I will put that information into a power point presentation that we will share with the class. Your child may bring something to share to the class for show and tell, pictures to share, and their favorite book. Your child will also be bringing home our class pet (stuffed animal). A page in our class pet binder will need to be filled out and returned with the class pet on Monday.

Birthdays

If your child has a birthday, then you may send in individually wrapped store bought treats to share with the class. At the end of the school year we will have a special day to celebrate all the summer birthdays.

Daily Binder

Your child will have a daily binder that they must bring home everyday and return everyday. Please check their folder each night. Anything on the green leave at home side can stay at home. Things on the red right back side either needs to be returned or are important. Please send in any notes, book order money, lunch money, etc. in their folder. Please make sure all money is labeled with your child's name.

Homework

On Monday I will send home a fluency passage for homework. There will also be optional fluency homework. Homework will be due on Fridays. Students will also need to practice the red words flashcards. The homework will be in the front pocket of their binder.

Lunch Money

If you are sending in a check, then please put your child's name and lunch pin number in the memo. If you are sending cash, then put it in an envelope or baggie with your child's name and lunch pin number. A lunch menu will be sent home each month or you can click here to see the menu. We eat lunch from 11:20-11:40.

Daily Snack

Your child will have a snack time each afternoon. The snack needs to be healthy, quick to eat, and not messy. Examples are granola bars, crackers, pretzels, string cheese, bite size fruit, cereal in a baggie, veggies, or popcorn. Please don't send candy, cookies, snack, cakes, fruit cups, fruit snacks/rolls, pudding, or jello. I will gladly accept snack donations for students who forget their snack.

Behavior System

I give out green tickets for good choices. Everyone will start off the day on green. Two green tickets earns a purple day which is a great day. If students make a bad choice, then they will be on yellow. If students continue to make bad choices, then they will earn an orange, red, or blue day. A behavior note will then be sent home that day that needs to be signed.

Fuzzies

Students will earn fuzzies (pom-poms) for getting green tickets for good choices. Each time they earn 15 fuzzies they can get a reward coupon and a terrific ticket.

Weekly Behavior Chart

In your child's folder, which is in your child's binder that needs to be brought to school everyday, will contain a behavior chart. Please initial the behavior chart on Fridays and your child will return it on Monday.
