HOWL (Hough Outstanding Women’s League) is a club for all women at Hough, who are looking to bond closer to those around them, ignite their leadership skills, and make a difference in their community. In HOWL we ensure that all girls feel welcome and appreciated because in our big school, HOWL acknowledges the individuality of each and every girl and use meetings as a way to connect girls and create a safe space. We do many service activities such as donations for women’s shelters, raise support for women’s rights and equality, we emphasize the importance of valuing oneself by doing activities that allow each girl to express themselves, and we overall serve to support girls at Hough. We meet once a month every month and based on the month, we do certain activities and do a variety of both community service activities and fun individual activities that allow the girls to be creative and have fun at the end of a long school day. This will be our second year and our last year was very successful in uniting girls and providing them with a club where they not only make a difference for women, but also where they can grow as people.
