Hough Athletic Leadership Organization (HALO) is a club that promotes leadership, service, and involvement of Hough student-athletes within the community. We put on monthly events and find volunteer opportunities so our members can give back to their school and community. Our goal is to have representation from every club and sanctioned sport at Hough High School.
HALO members are active participants in their school and community. Our members are expected to complete yearly volunteer hours (10) and consistently attend Hough sports games. We have monthly meetings to introduce members to fun activities, volunteer opportunities, as well as logging in hours for the school. This year, we are especially interested in learning more about what our Hough Athletes need.
Every other Thursday in the GYM. Dates to be determined. Time: 6:50-7:05.
All members are required to complete 10 hours of volunteer work each school year. These hours must be done by completing the approved activities listed below.
Attend Bailey Middle/Davidson K-8 sports game
Attending a middle school sports game counts for 1 service hour per game. Proof of attendance (picture of you at the game) is required for these games to count.
Work concessions at a Hough sports game
Guest coach at Bailey Middle/Davidson K-8 practice
Recreational sports coach
Scorekeeping at sporting events (recreational, middle school, high school)
HALO Monthly Events that involve service (Feed the Hunger, Teacher Tailgate, Valentines for Bailey's Glen, etc.)
Donating items for a HALO Event (Include recess equipment for the equipment drive or socks for the Get Sock'd tournament).
If members would like to acquire their hours at events other than the ones listed above, they must have approval from the club advisor or leadership team first. Keep in mind that volunteer hours should involve sports and should be done without any compensation.
Complete (10) required service hours per year.
Open to athletes and non-athletes.

Club dues are $10. They can be paid via the Online School Payment, or by cash/check to Ms. Thornton. The deadline to pay dues is November 22nd. Please contact Ms. Thornton if you need financial assistance!
