Cylinder thermostat, controls the temperature of the stored water in the cylinder. Should be located a 1/3rd of the way up from the bottom of the cylinder to assist in an even temperature throughout the cylinder.

A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) is a valve that blends hot water with cold water to ensure constant, safe shower and bath outlet temperatures, preventing scalding.
