"Cocoa Butter Kisses" is a song by American rapper Chance the Rapper from his second mixtape Acid Rap (2013). The song features American rappers Vic Mensa and Twista, and was produced by Cam O'bi and Peter Cottontale. It is one of Chance the Rapper's most popular songs to date.

At the time when the song was written, Vic Mensa was staying at an apartment in Humboldt Park, Chicago with his manager Cody Kazarian. Chance the Rapper visited one day and showed Mensa a verse and hook he had written earlier. Soon, Mensa began composing his part for the song. In an interview with DJ Booth, Cam O'bi stated that both Chance and Mensa wrote the song while "on mushrooms".[1][2]

The song was originally recorded on a different instrumental and titled "Babies and Gunshots: Fuck Hawaii Pt. 2" (which, according to Mensa, was because "we were ruminating on the effects of violence in our community"). The original producer had already given the beat to another rapper and did not let Chance to use it, so Mensa put Cam O'bi in touch with Peter Cottonwood. The rappers asked the producers to remake the beat. In a jam session, Chance and Mensa repeatedly sang the hook while O'bi provided the drums on FL Studio and Cottonwood played chords on the keyboard. Once the producers had a chord progression and bassline ready, Mensa (as a member of Kids These Days) and Chance had to go on tour together for about a week. Upon Chance's request, O'bi finished production by the time they came back.

Chance the Rapper already had an idea of bringing Twista on the track as well. A few weeks after Chance and Mensa finished their verses, Twista recorded a third verse for the song. According to Twista, the song reminded him of being young, as well as memories of smoking marijuana when he became an adult.[1][2][3]

Fred Thomas, in an AllMusic review of Acid Rap, wrote that the song "folds church organ swells and synthesizer swirls into its huge, straightforward beat".[4] Lyrically, the song centers on how the rappers' lifestyles of smoking and drugs has caused them to be apart from their families due to their disapproval.[5][6] In his verse, Chance the Rapper sings about missing the memories of his childhood, such as VHS tapes of Nickelodeon shows and Chuck E. Cheese pizza.[7]

The weather is turning colder and the holidays are approaching. Time for a nice hot cocoa! Of course we all know that hot cocoa is good any time of the year, especially when it's chilly outside. But it sure does enhance that seasonal joy, doesn't it? That means that this song would be perfect for a winter or holiday concert. And don't forget that December 13th is National Cocoa Day!

In performance, students could be all decked out for winter in sweaters, hats, boots, etc. And of course, they could all have a mug in hand to round out the look for this song. Just pretend it's filled with hot cocoa. At least until the after-party, that is. And don't forget the little marshmallows!

Ice Cream Song : Down Down Baby - From The Movie "Big"It amazes me that as much as I have seen the movie "Big", this funny little ice cream song chanted by Tom Hanks (Josh) and Jared Rushton (Billy) has not been permanently implanted in my brain. (The fast pace could be the reason.)google_ad_client="pub-1995434334036985";google_ad_slot="1757033832";google_ad_width=468;google_ad_height=60;Well, I couldn't resist watching it again to try to figure out exactly what the ice cream lyrics are.

Good thing I'm a pretty good lip reader, because there are a couple of words that are difficult to hear correctly.

If you have the movie, you should watch it again. This song is done once in the beginning when Josh is still small and walking down the street with his best friend, Billy. Then, in another scene where Josh is big, he does the chant to convince Billy that it is really him.

This part is important to read before the actual song guys so don't ignore it. REALLY.

Hello!! It's been a while, again.

I haven't translated in a long time indeed because I was busy with studying, job-hunting and all the various tedious adulting. Yes, adulting--being an adult, brings a major theme to this song that I decided to translate today! So before I decided to begin this translation as usual I wanted to make sure why did Fuma really write this? What's the point he wanted to bring forth with such a song? So to understand that better, I translated the talk from behind the scenes of the actual making of the song in which Fuma discussed in , why he really did such a song.

He mentioned that this time, regarding the album PAGES, he wanted to bring forth a theme that tackled his own "roots", one of which that rummaged through his memories and brought by the earliest he could remember when his consciousness had first developed. And that being in his case, the can of cocoa that his father, which also included other members of his family too as he mentioned, often brought for him when he was about 2-3 years old on the way back from the park. He mentioned that this can of cocoa was significant to him because its warmth often links him back to those roots. Now, knowing such facts, we can properly give this song some justice or so ...I hope so.

*PS remember this isn't a word by word translation as usual, since I love catching the gist of the meaning in some bits. And my notes will be in purple right next to some lines for further explanation, I repeat this everytime so im sure youre bored. LOL Anyways!! I might have some mistakes as am not a native Japanese but I hope I've given it the justice it deserves because it is a beautiful song.

*Ai's thoughts/discussion: So um, I thought this song is really warm. It reminded me of the feelings I had around the time of Twenty. I guess, it's because of the family, memories aspect. However in this one, he focuses on the theme that in order to face the future brightly you need to find something in your past that sparks joy for you and use that reminder of joy to face your tough mundane days. What do you think? I mean...I related it to it so much because I often do this everytime I'm pressured, honestly. Let's discuss further in the comments!! Hope you enjoyed. Don't forget to leave a comment, and if you ever wanted to use this translation somewhere please credit me.

The Cocoa Boys was the name of a band of fictional brothers Joey and Frankie Coco, included as characters in the musical. The Cocoa in the band name is supposedly a play on words in the fictional story of the song. While the band names changed, the idea of rival bands was reused in the initial 1987 draft of the Graffiti Bridge movie.

Remember Me, written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, is the main song of the movie sung by many characters at different points for many different reasons. Because this happens, we are shown many layers of the song and just how special it actually is. I will explore six layers and their meanings in this analysis. The above video is the lyric version of Remember Me sung by Miguel featuring Natalia Lafourcade.

The first and most obvious meaning of the song is that we need to remember those who have passed. Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration of this and is used to help support those who have done so on their spiritual journey.

Side note: this may be part of the reason why Coco is forgetting her father. The song was all she had of him, the only thing she could remember him by. But her mother immediately banned all music after Hector left, leaving Coco with the only connection to her father as something that was forbidden.

I am currently creating an app that plays music. I would like to add a feature that shows the music lyrics while the music plays, with the current position of the text marked to match the current position in the song. The Bouncing Ball effect, just like you see on every Karaoke screen as the song plays.I have been looking into extending my caf files, adding "string chunks" and then reading them out again. Is this the correct way to do this? Does anybody know of a better/easier/normal way to achieve my goal?As I am not sure how I would synchronize everything, I would be happy for any suggestions, code examples or helpful comments. Maybe somebody has done this before and would be happy to advise me.

I think these lyrics are about Chance, Vic & Twista reflecting on their life with a mix of nostalgia and regret. They reminisce on the people and pop culture that influenced them during their childhood and this is a sharp contrast to the life they lead now. They miss the simplicity of their life as kids and can remember some of these experiences so clearly, compared to the party lifestyle they live today (where they can barely remember what they did last night, and how that's considered "cool" by their friends). The song is about acknowledging the guilt and shame that comes with the choices they've made, and coming to terms with the fact that they can't go back to the way things used to be. All they can do is accept their decisions and continue to move forward in life--but they'll always be able to remember where they came from. ff782bc1db
