Humboldt Universität zu Berlin

Humboldt's ideal of the unity of research and teaching has become a model for universities all over the world. Central to this model is the idea of research-oriented teaching and the transfer of knowledge based on research. The Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture is dedicated to this principle and cooperates closely with research centres. Next to a broad range of interdisciplinary courses, it focuses mainly on “Food Quality Management” and “Urban Horticulture”. Berlin, the capital of Germany, offers an interesting mixture of international metropolitan life and cultural diversity, but also provides green areas and is surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of Brandenburg.

Technische Universität München - Weihenstephan

Tradition and innovation are connected and used for enhancements in the two leading disciplines of the new century - "Life Science" and "Food Science"- at the campus of the Technical University Munich-Weihenstephan. The basis for the crosslinking between plant and nutrition science is an interdisciplinary and versatile education. Not only because of the central position in Europe Weihenstephan savours high reputation in the world. The very special charm of the location is due to the combination of a modern university campus with the atmosphere of a small city. Its character with cafes and cultural proposals is stamped by students. And the close distance to Munich and the Alps admits many further facilities besides the study courses.

The Horticultural Science master’s degree program at TUM School of Life Sciences will not take new students after winter semester 2020/21, since the program is being phased out. Students from partner universities can still spend a semester at TUM, as long as the program is running. Please contact the TUM student advisor via hortsci.co@ls.tum.de if you intend to spend a semester at TUM!
