Arrive in Bucharest, wander city, overnight at Hotel Berthelot. 5 night bus tour throughout Romania, visiting castles, fortresses and medieval villages, return to Bucharest for 2 nights. Price will include all accommodations, breakfast daily, bus and guide, taxes and admissions fees. Airfare on your own.

Day 1 Arrival to Coanda International Airport in Bucharest. Own transfer to your downtown Bucharest Hotel Berthelot. Hotel check in with the remainder of the day at leisure. In your free time you can visit the Old Town, the Gold Collections at the Treasury, Cismigiu Park, the National Art Gallery. Try a typical Romanian Dinner menu at the Zexe Aviatorilor restaurant.
Day 2 Bucharest - Sinaia & Peles Castle - Bran Castle - Brasov & Evening at Leisure
Breakfast at hotel. Morning meeting with your English speaking tour guide at hotel in prior to leaving for Sinaia - one of the most famous Carpathian Mountains towns. Visit Peles Castle and Gardens (ground floor tour), the former royal residence of King Charles I of Romania and known as one of the most beautiful summer royal residences in Europe. Then cross the mountains into Transylvania to the village of Bran. The attraction here is the medieval Bran Castle also known as Dracula Castle. Continue to the nearby town of Brasov. Hotel check in. The evening is at leisure. Enjoy Brasov’s lovely pedestrian area of the Old Town with its many shops, traditional restaurants and outdoor cafes.

Day 3 Brasov Tour with the Black Church - Sighisoara
Breakfast at hotel. Take a morning tour of the Old Town Brasov with the Gothic Black Church. Brasov has one of the best preserved medieval quarters and fortifications. Tour includes Council Square, Schei Quarter, the Rope Street and Catherine's Gate. Leave Brasov to drive through the picturesque Transylvanian Plateau with its quaint villages and Saxon fortificationssuch as Saschiz. Afternoon arrival to Sighisoara, a World Heritage Site and the only still inhabited medieval citadel in Europe. It stands on a network of tunnels and catacombs and, according to oneversion of the myth; this is where the Pied Piper brought the children of Hamelin. Sighisoara is the place where the famous Vlad the Impaler Dracula was born in 1431. The Birthplace is today a restaurant and one of the main tourist attractions. Hotel check in. Day 4 Sighisoara Tour – Abandoned Castel Drucula Hotel - Bistritza & The Jonathan Harker Dinner - The Borgo Pass
Breakfast at hotel. Walking tour of Sighisoara visit the intriguing Clock Tower housing the town’s museum. Hear tales about punishments at the stake and even view the actual torture instruments on display in the Torture Chamber. Next is the medieval weapon musem and the Torture Chamber. You are expected for an (almost) ritual dinner at the “Golden Crown” Restaurant based on Jonathan Harker diary notes on the way to Bistritza.

Day 5 Borgo Pass – Targu Mures & The Saxon Village Trail - Sibiu Walking Tour
After breakfast head back South to Sibiu passing through the picturesque Transylvanian countryside. Break your trip in the town of Targu Mures, known for its superb Art Nouveau architecture in the Old Center. Later drive along the Saxon Village Trail, a chain of old German-type settlements with their fortified churches -- a hallmark unique to Transylvania. In the afternoon reach Sibiu: the former chief city of the Transylvanian Saxon and featuring well-preserved medieval architecture. Enjoy an afternoon walking city tour of Old Sibiu including the Great and the Lesser Squares (UNESCO Sites), the merchant houses and their famous "sleepy eyes" dormers, the medieval fortifications and the Liar’s Bridge. Visit the Lutheran Cathedral where Mihnea the Bad – the son of Vlad Dracula was stabbed to death in 1510.Hotel check in with the evening in the pedestrian area of the Old Town.

Day 7 Sibiu - Olt River Gorge – Targoviste Fortress & Chindia Tower - Bucharest
Leave Sibiu for a scenic drive alonge the Olt River Canyon. Make a stop at Cozia Monastery, the resting place of Mircea the Elder, Vlad’s grandfather. It features one of the most complete Last Judgment frescoes of the country. On the way to Bucharest visit the town of Targoviste, the capital of Wallachia during Vlad’s reign. Tour the premises of the former Princely Court including the famous Sunset Tower. Transfer to Bucharest with the evening at leisure.

Day 8 Bucharest City Tour & Snagov Lake and Island
HBreakfast at hotel. The extensive city tour of Bucharest of the Old Princely Court – the Bucharest Palace (now in ruins)of Vlad, the main avenues and former royal palace. Then stroll in open air the Village Museum, take a guided tour of the Palace of the Parliament -- the largest building in the world after the Pentagon. Drive to the mysterious island of Snagov Lake, bow to the alleged gravesite of Vlad the Impaler. The empty tomb, here, is still an enigma... Evening atleisure in Bucharest.
