Within this project my insperations came from places like body horror photographers, horror films, geico commercials, etc. For the most part, I enjoy making props for photoshoots, especially offputting ones. It was alot of fun to showcase so many facets of my work, since I dabble a little in almost anything considered art.
I used polymer clay (oven bake clay) to create the teeth and the eyeballs. It was a tedious project, especially since I don't use a mold, every singe tooth used within the photoshoots is unique.
My work this semester was heavily influenced by the concept of horror in nature, to me this meant making things that are natural seem terrifying whether that be a couple holding hands turning to horror because they hold teeth inbetween them. Things like the body morphing from something natural to something not is also something I explored.
I also wanted to explore flowers in a setting similar to still life's, I wanted my photogrpahs to almot look like paintings themselves.
Overall, I think this project is a good representation of the things that influence and inspire me.
