Creatures of Sonaria: Simply Realism is a community focused around realism gameplay. We host sessions with easy-to-follow rules and profiles that we hope anyone, beginner or experienced, players can enjoy.
If you are new to realism, keep scrolling to learn how COS:SR realism sessions work. Additionally, check out the Rules and Profiles pages for more info.
Realism can be defined as playing in a way that mimics organisms in real life. Behaviors such as hunting, pairing, nesting, hibernating, scavenging, and migrating could be classified as realism. While COS is not precisely a "realistic game" in any capacity, a certain subgroup of players have subscribed to this playstyle simply for fun.
In realism sessions, there are a certain set of rules players must abide by. These rules are in place to uphold realism mechanics, fairness, or a mixture of both.
Additionally, every session has an accompanying "session doc." Session docs contain all information about an upcoming session; consider it a guide or manual. They contain the time & date of when the session will occur, a copy of the updated rules, and a roster of creatures that will be appearing in the upcoming session.
2-4 Realism Moderators are present in every session to watch for rulebreakers and assist players.
Every creature has an in-depth profile that defines how players are supposed to play it in a session. Profiles contain elements such as habitats, diet, pack size, behavior, and much more.
COS:SR's profiles are non-canon, meaning that they are simply an interpretation of how the creature might play realistically. Some profiles may reflect details that the original creature's creator intended, and other profiles are drastically different from its canon behavior.
Profiles are also prone to changing over time as creatures receives buffs, nerfs, and reworks, thus requiring tweaks to their profiles in order to keep them balanced in sessions. COS:SR's Creature Profilers (the people who write the profiles) are always busy updating profiles and writing new ones as creatures release.
