President:
The primary contact for Horner Junior High School PTSA for Horner. Responsible for creating meeting agendas and running PTSA meetings on 5 select Wednesdays; representative to Fremont Council PTA at their monthly, Monday evening meetings; overall PTSA coordinator & liaison with school administration; as well as co-signer on all checks.
Vice President / Membership:
Right-hand person of the President, and presides the meetings when President is not available. Organize membership drive at Maze Day, collect funds from Maze Day, create spreadsheet for funds collected, and give to Treasurer for deposit; maintain official membership list; create one-page membership report for Council. Time commitment = about 30 hours in August & September.
Secretary:
Takes notes at PTSA meetings and keeps accurate record of the proceedings of all meetings of the association. Conducts all necessary correspondence of and for the association upon authorization of the President. Signs all warrants presented for payment; approximate time commitment is 20 hours/year.
Treasurer:
Responsible for maintaining checkbook for Horner PTSA, making and recording deposits, preparing monthly financial report to present at PTSA meetings, responsible for getting financial information to tax accountant and mailing necessary forms to IRS. Responsible for submitting financial information to Fremont Council PTA.
Auditor:
Responsible for following an audit program to audit our PTSA books twice per year, in January and July; submits the audit report to Fremont Council PTA. Approximate time commitment is 8 hours/audit.
Parliamentarian:
Helps us follow parliamentary procedure at meetings, reviews motions for legal accuracy in minutes, responsible for updating bylaws and submitting to the Fremont Council PTA for approval process.
Reflections Chair:
Responsible for getting information about the program out to the students, collecting entries, finding judges & having the entries judged, and forwarding them to Fremont Council PTA. Attend all recognition events at Unit, Council & District levels. Approximate time commitment is 30-40 hours from early October through mid-January.
Historian:
Responsible for collecting volunteer hours & writing quarterly reports and then submit to Fremont Council PTA.
Hospitality:
Responsible for organizing teacher/staff luncheons with coordination from ASB. Approximate time commitment is 8 hours/luncheon.
Social Dance Chair/Co-Chair:
Responsible for coordinating volunteers, food, and games for 4 school socials. Approximate time commitment is 8 hours/social which includes planning, food-prep, serving students, and clean up.
8TH Grade Year-End Celebrations Chair/Co-Chair:
This is key positions in organizing end-of-year dance and advancement assembly for all 8TH Grade Students. These positions shall keep the Year-End Celebrations Committee on track. Primary contacts with school administration for this event, responsible for holding Committee meetings as needed to accomplish the tasks at hand, responsible for staying within the budget and working with PTSA Treasurer to get timely reimbursements, coordinate with PTSA President ensuring all service providers’ contract are signed properly. Keep documentation necessary to help future coordinators and volunteers in the coming school years in making this event happen.
8TH Grade Year-End Celebrations Committee:
A group of parents interested in working together to organize the 8TH Grade Year-End Celebrations in June of each school year.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Maintains database of volunteers from various outreach. Responsible for reaching out via email to potential volunteers for various activities requiring volunteers for school throughout the year; making sure there are adequate volunteers for time slots needed.
Health/Safety/Disaster Preparedness:
Responsible for maintaining our disaster supplies on campus, inventory and replenish classroom disaster bags; should ideally sit on the safety committee to coordinate disaster planning. Approximate time commitment is 15 hours/year.
