Unit: 17 The Divisions of Faith

Gist: Knowledge is originated from questioning. Arjuna learnt the Sri Krishna through questioning. His questions are mainly for the welfare of the mankind. In the verse, he wanted Sri Krishna to speak of the position of the persons who don’t follow the principles of scriptures but worship God according to their own imagination.
Learnt: Learnt the difference between demon and demigod. Demon is someone who neither follow the instructions of the Supreme God nor maintain the equilibrium with the nature. On the other hand, the demigods are those who are in the mode of goodness.

Summary: The Supreme Personality of Godhead created the nature to govern the living entities with her (nature) three modes. The modes of nature are for those who don’t abide by the rules and regulations of Supreme Lord, Sri Krsna. However, one can elevate oneself from a lower mode to better mode by having good association or accepting a bona-fide spiritual master.
Learnt: Nature has three folds or modes – mode of goodness, mode of passion and mode of ignorance. Living entities work under any one or both of these modes. [2-8-23]
