The Town of Horicon and the Comprehensive Plan Committee is pleased to announce that the Draft Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review and comment.
The Comprehensive Plan is a long-term policy document that reflects the community’s shared vision for Horicon’s future. It addresses key topics such as land use, housing, natural resources, economic development, and community character, and it will guide future decision-making by the Town Board and other local boards.
Public input is an essential part of this process. We encourage residents, property owners, business owners, and other stakeholders to review the Draft Plan and share their feedback. Your comments will help ensure the Plan accurately reflects community priorities and is both practical and forward-looking.

Horicon Comprehensive Plan Update
The Town of Horicon is updating its 2010 Comprehensive Plan!
In 2023 the Town received a grant from the New York Department of State to update its Comprehensive Plan, the Town has partnered with the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board to prepare this updated plan. This planning process is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2026.
The Plan will define the community's vision for the future, establish goals, and provide a framework for future decision-making.

Robust outreach and engagement with community members, stakeholders, and experts will ensure that Horicon's Comprehensive Plan reflects the community's needs and desires while addressing future challenges and opportunities.
The Horicon Comprehensive Plan is being led by a Project Advisory Committee including community members and elected officials.
How to get involved:
Public engagement plays a vital role in this planning process. Residents, visitors, and business owners will have multiple opportunities to learn about the plan and share their input through surveys and public workshops.
