Welcome to HoraFresh. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our mobile application.
1. General Overview (Local-First Core)
HoraFresh is built around a local-first architecture. All your food inventory logs, category records, shelf-life parameters, consumption statistics, and historical metrics are stored exclusively on your local device.
While your pantry data remains completely private and offline, we display third-party advertisements using Google AdMob to keep the application free to use.
2. Information Collection and Advertising
While HoraFresh does not directly collect, store, or transmit your personal pantry data to external servers, we utilize third-party SDKs for advertisement serving:
Pantry & Inventory Data: Stored locally in a secure Android SQLite (Room) database. It is never uploaded, analyzed, or shared.
Smart Recipe Suggestions: Ingredient matching operates entirely offline on your device.
Advertising (Google AdMob): We use Google AdMob to show ads within the application. Google AdMob may collect and process certain non-personal device information, including:
Unique Device Identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID)
IP Address (used for coarse location estimation)
App crash reports and diagnostic performance data
User interaction data with displayed advertisements
This information is collected directly by Google to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements, limit ad frequency, measure ad effectiveness, and prevent fraud.
3. Permissions Requested and How They Are Used
To deliver a high-quality experience, HoraFresh requests the following permissions:
Notifications (Android 13+): Used solely to trigger local alerts on your device when ingredients are nearing expiration.
Storage / Cache Access: Used to read and write your local pantry database.
Internet Access: Used exclusively to retrieve and render advertisements via Google AdMob and to view the dynamic privacy policy.

You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your Android device settings:
Go to Settings > Privacy or Google > Ads.
Select Delete advertising ID or toggle off Opt out of Ads Personalization (varies by Android version).

Your personal food records remain strictly isolated within Android's built-in application sandbox architecture on your device. AdMob handles advertising data in compliance with standard industry encryption and security protocols.

HoraFresh does not knowingly collect or target personal information from children under the age of 13. AdMob is configured to comply with applicable child privacy protection standards (such as COPPA).
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or app features. Any updates will be made visible dynamically within the app.
