Hoppy Harvest is home to many different breeds of chickens, including meat, layer, and decorative breeds.
Hoppy Harvest is working on sexable EE babies. They come from a Legbar rooster and a specific mixed hen (email for more details on the specific mix!). EEs lay an array of colors, but I am working on standardising it to speckled teal. My males are pure black at hatch, and hens have a white dot on their heads. Hens grow up to be barred.
Hoppy Harvest is focused on speckled Cuckoo Maran eggs. cuckoo marans are one of the lightest colored egg layers in the maran family, and are sexable at hatch. They are one of my favourites! Cuckoo Marans are good layers, and have decent meat, but they grow slower than your average meat bird.
Hoppy Harvest has Old English Bantams, and some Frizzled Seramas. Frizzles are a genetic mutation that cause the feathers to be curved outwards instead of with the body. OEBs are very opinionated, and make wonderful pets.
Hoppy Harvests silkies are a variety of colours, but mostly partridge. Silkies have thin hair-like feathers and are considered a bantam breed. A Silkies skin, bones, and meat are black, and they are best for pets or brooding eggs.
New hatches are not announced on this site. This site solely exists for the purpose of introducing my animals and my hobby farm. New hatches are announced on my facebook page.
