The History of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated
Tau Epsilon Zeta Chapter
Hope Mills, NC
On May 31, 2003, six finer women came together and established the Tantalizing Tau Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Hope Mills. The ladies, Sorors Mamie Love Griffin, Wyllie Grae Joyner, Tracey Jackson, Corliss Robinson, Frances Hardy and the late Marsha McLeod began meeting at Hope Mills Library on this date to make Cumberland County a little sweeter.
Since its inception, the chapter’s passion has been serving others. For the past two years this chapter has won first place for sororities in the Cumberland County March for Babies campaign. In the land of Zeta, won second place in the region and first place in the state of NC in Z HOPE. TEZ also raised the most funds in NC for the St. Jude’s campaign.
Currently, TEZ is serving our community through Adopt a School with Douglas Byrd Middle and High Schools, the Falcon Children's Home, Alms House of Hope Mills, and Cardinal Care of Hope Mills. In addition the chapter participates in all Zeta International Initiatives…Relay for Life, Wreaths Across America, March of Dimes March for Babies and St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
