Join us in creating a movement of hope,
one crane at a time.
Paper cranes symbolize resilience, healing, and new beginnings—values that deeply resonate with survivors of human trafficking. Inspired by the ancient Japanese legend of senbazuru, where 1,000 cranes bring hope and transformation, Hopeful Wings was created by an emergency medicine physician who has witnessed the trauma of trafficking firsthand. This initiative is more than just folding cranes—it’s about education, advocacy, and action. By raising awareness and providing resources, we empower communities and healthcare providers to recognize, respond to, and prevent human trafficking. Through education, we equip medical professionals with the tools to identify victims, offer trauma-informed care, and become advocates for change.
Mission:
Hopeful wings is dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking through education, advocacy, and the symbolic act of folding paper cranes. We empower healthcare professionals and communities to recognize, respond to, and support survivors with trauma-informed care. Through education and action, we strive to create a world where every survivor is seen, heard, and given the opportunity to heal.
