Hopeful Characters works with a local children's hospital. It is a volunteer organization run by high school students, and provides an opportunity for students to give back to their community. We visit a local children's hospital in the Cleveland area monthly. We visit one on one with patients, read stories, sing songs, and give small gifts to the patients we visit. We also do outside volunteer events which have included a prom for teens with special needs, a 5k to raise money for the children's hospital, a cerebral palsy awareness picnic, a holiday party for pediatric cancer patients, and a community outreach event for special needs members of the community. We love what we do, and have also done fundraiser events at local libraries and visit birthday parties to help fund our group. All funds raised go directly towards the needs of the group. This includes (but is not limited to) wig/costume maintenance and replacement, gifts for patients, and makeup supplies.
