About Us

HOPE Child Care Learning Center (HCCLC) is an educational facility in Hartford, Connecticut, enrolling students who are between the ages of 1 to 11. HCCLC offers a high-quality, full day Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) Toddler, Pre-K 3, & 4/Kindergarten program and home school program. In addition, we offer before school care, after school care, tutoring and a summer program.

The specific goals are to provide our students with the foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, science, gross motor, fine motor and social- emotional development. We teach them receptive and expressive language. Lastly, we prepare them to be problem solvers, critical thinkers, and creative.

HCCLC offers a dynamic and flexible program. The curriculum provides intellectual activities with well-planned, teacher-directed lessons that are developmentally appropriate and interesting. Teachers pay careful attention to their students' interests, curiosity, motivation and developmental abilities. The teachers create a physical, social, emotional, and intellectual climate that supports learning in all of the developmental domains. Each student is an unique individual and teachers keep detailed records of the student’s interests and skills so they can accurately facilitate each student’s learning, health and safety.

Teachers regard themselves as facilitators of learning, developing daily lesson plans that specify particular content and materials, but always adapting plans to the momentary needs and interests of the students.

HCCLC's curriculum focus on the development of school readiness skills (e.g. social competence, early literacy, and early numeracy).
