Hi, I'm Hope White and I’m a tenacious teenager who strives to do my best in all areas of my life! I have a natural desire to do and be my best, whether it’s in the classroom, on the volleyball court, at my internship or in my everyday personal life. My personal relationship with God makes me know that I am capable of achieving all of my goals because he has given me gifts and talents, the love and support of my family/village and his words to guide me. This is only the beginning, I have not even scratched the surface of the many accomplishments that are awaiting me in my life!
Moreover, I have strived and worked hard to maintain an all A average, not because my parents demand it, but because I do! I strive to learn and master my courses and because it’s something I want, my parents support me by encouraging me to learn as much as I can in and out of the classroom. I will personally continue to work, learn and challenge myself every day and throughout my entire life. Learning, testing, and understanding new concepts have not always come easy but through taking my time, accessing tools available for assistance, and my desire to succeed, I have been able to find ways around these hurdles! These experiences and tough patches are all tools I can use for the rest of my life and academic journey to find resolutions.
In addition to being on Honor Roll and a part of the Jr. Beta Club, I was the only Freshman to earn a spot on Varsity Volleyball as the Libero. I have won Coaches Award 2 years in a row, Defensive Player of the Year 2 years in a row, Honorable Mention for All Region Team as a Freshman and made the 2nd Team All Region as a Sophomore. I volunteer every year with Black Women Will (™) where through my demonstration of being able to follow directions and help the clients and attorneys as directed, I was awarded a flexible internship to learn the financial/accounting services business. These awards/opportunities show that hard work pays off and there is always room to grow and improve each and every year, so that is what I plan to do – continue to be the best version of me in all aspects of my life.
Many people characterize me as “having an old soul” because of the way I carry myself, stand strong to my beliefs and my willingness to accept people as they are. In baking cookies for friends and family for celebrations and defeats is as a way of saying I care and I’m here. I want to be in and create an environment that allows for me and others to bring their whole self to situations and allows us all to develop, grow and thrive. As I continue to learn and evolve, I will seek a college that will push me to be the best version of myself: physically, mentally, educationally and spiritually, but with no educational debt!
Looking forward to my future, I want to not only be financially successful, but spiritually happy and genuinely happy in my life. I want to be able to provide for myself and my family, so we all can enjoy life to the fullest! I choose to further my education and attend college because I believe that college is the best option to help me achieve my dreams of being an engineer and financially secure in my future. I truly believe college is the time to soar, stumble and grow!
