Welcome!

Karen Kilps is the School Counselor at Hope Elementary School. She loves this school and the community of Hope. Mrs. Kilps received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2002 from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University in April 2020. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Mrs. Kilps believes that each student at our school has incredible potential and will work with all her effort to help them reach it.

Our mission is to:

  • provide a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate counseling program that addresses the social/emotional, academic, and career development of all students

  • cultivate a positive school climate where all students feel a sense of safety and belonging

  • collaborate with school staff, families, and the community to empower students to reach their personal and academic goals

Students are equipped with skills that nurture healthy relationships - both with others and themselves. They know and understand their inherent worth as individuals. Students graduate and live into their full potential as life-long learners, good citizens, and contributing members of their community.
