TENTATIVE Dates are June 16-20. All students are expected to attend this trip. It is an important part of transition from high school to life after high school. The time is important time for intentional conversations for good, good-byes and leaving well. This isn’t just a fun time away.
Students will have opportunity to work to raise money to pay for part or all of the trip. The goal per student to cover the whole cost is around 450,000. Fundraising not just about raising money. Students also learn important work skills as they run events and snack bar such as serving customers, handling food and money, working together, planning, and commitment.
Wednesday, June 21 will be the night before graduation. It is intended to be an intimate event where students have an opportunity to recognize their teachers for getting them to graduation. Each student will have a limit of 3 tickets. It is expected that students will use those tickets for parents and a sibling of senior school age or older. We know you have many people supporting you and some even coming in from out of town, but they will need to find other plans for this evening. They are welcome to attend the Graduation ceremony the following day.
June 22 in the morning at 10:00am. All family and friends are welcome to celebrate at HOPAC. The ceremony finishes around 11:30 and will be followed with refreshments on the lawn. Around 1:15, there is an all school assembly. Graduates are encouraged to stay for this event but are not required.
