A passionate Fire Instructor and former U.S. Navy–certified Naval Instructor and firefighter, he brings over a decade of service-driven experience to the classroom with a clear mission: developing the next generation of firefighters through high-energy, hands-on instruction. His background includes extensive knowledge of fire marshal duties, biological and chemical hazards, fire suppression, flooding response, and de-smoking operations, all grounded in a rigorous safety-first mindset shaped by shipboard and damage control environments.

Known for creating engaging and interactive learning experiences, he blends visual demonstrations, scenario-based drills, and performance-focused practice to keep students motivated, challenged, and actively learning. As the leader of the Fire Science program at Hoover High School, he sets high expectations, refuses to settle for average results, and inspires every interested student to achieve their personal best. Designs and delivers a comprehensive Fire Science curriculum aligned with California CTE standards and NFPA 1001, integrating classroom theory, hands-on skills practice, and scenario-based instruction through daily lessons and live demonstrations (SCBA, auto extrication, forcible entry).
Implements rigorous performance-based assessment systems by developing skill sheets, evaluation rubrics, and competency measures to ensure students meet industry expectations and demonstrate job-ready proficiency.
