SASHA privacy policy

SASHA, an app, developed by Hook Mountain Software Development, Inc., determines the total hours of direct sunlight at a given location, taking into consideration any obstructions which create shade.

In order to do so, SASHA needs to access the following from your device:

  • Your Location - the path which the sun takes varies from location to location, so it is necessary to determine your location to compute the sun's path across the sky.
  • Access to your camera, in order to capture images of any obstructions blocking direct sunlight from reaching the device.
  • Access to your device's file storage, for temporary storage of captured images, solar path information, and data structures needed to compute shading.
  • Information about your device, such as model and Android version, in order to assure your device supports the functionality offered by SASHA.

SASHA does NOT view or collect this information, EXCEPT when the app sends a log to the developer. (The log contains information about the run-time state of the app which would help the developer identify and correct any bugs which might arise.) This can occur in only one of two ways: the user chooses to e-mail a log to the developer by means exposed in the options menu, or because the app crashed and the app requests the user to send an e-mail to the developer. Any information collected in this manner by the developer is used solely to analyze issues with the app, and is not shared with any other parties.
