1. If you are arriving in Kanpur by train, you can use the Metro to reach the IITK campus. Use the Platform 9 exit and take a metro bound for IIT Kanpur, which is a terminal station. Metros run from 6 am till 10 pm.
2. From the railway station, you can also find autos and taxis round the clock that will take you to IIT Kanpur. In that case, it is better to use the Platform 1 exit.
3. If you are arriving at the Kanpur airport, you can hire a pre-paid taxi from inside the terminal. It should cost you about 1000/- to get to our campus. It takes about an hour to reach our campus.
4. If you are arriving at the Lucknow airport, book a Uber or a pre-paid taxi before you exit the terminal. The cost should be around 2000/-. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach the campus.
5. On arriving at the Main Gate of IITK, contact the Security Office. They will have a list with your name on it. They will direct you to the hostel in which your accommodation has been arranged.
6. All male participants will be put up in Hall 11 and all female participants in GH-1. Both these hostels are quite some distance from the gate. So, hold on to your auto/taxi and ask the driver to drop you at your hostel.
7. There is a mess in every hostel. You are expected to eat at the mess attached to your hostel. You will be given meal coupons for breakfast, lunch and dinner on arrival. Present the right coupon to the mess staff.
8. If you arrive before 20th or leave after 25th of July, you will need to pay for the meals.
9. Please bring your laptop with you. It will help if you have Matlab loaded on your laptop.
10. Bring an umbrella or a raincoat. It is raining very heavily in Kanpur.
