4-H is a national organization which helps young people develop knowledge and skills to become productive citizens. 4-H also helps youth to meet the diversities and challenges of today's society and brings together youth and adults to design programs that will teach skills for living. 4-H upholds the theme of "learning by doing." It reaches people in their own neighborhoods with delivery methods suitable to their needs. 4-H also helps provide a stronger bond between family members. The 4-H program is a voluntary, non-formal, educational program offered to all boys and girls regardless of race, color, national origin, place of residence, or handicap.
No, Hoofpicks is a great way to learn about horses! We welcome all, whether you are a beginner to riding and/or taking care of horses or you are an advanced rider! We welcome everyone!

Hoofpicks meetings are usually held on the third Sunday of every month at various locations in and around Georgetown and Williamson County. Some months may need to meet on the 4th Sunday due to holidays or other events. The date and location will always be posted on our calendar and the meetings generally start at 2:00 pm and last 1 to 1 1/2 hours. To find out when the next meeting is go to the Hoofpicks calendar which located on our home page. We also list our events on our social media accounts as well on Facebook and Instagram.
We have elections at the last meeting of the year (usually in August). If you would like to be an officer for 2022-2023 prepare a speech before August. If you would like to vote for an officer you must be a member from that year.

Sure you can. Come to our monthly meeting to experience what the club is about. Horse judging is a great way to learn about horses and will even be a great resource to help you choose a horse when you are ready to be a horse owner yourself. Ask club members what else you can do as a horseless member - we love talking horses.
We have many ways to find out information about Hoofpicks! You can search here on our website or contact our club manager at hoofpicks4h@gmail.com. We are happy to answer any questions that you may have!
