My experience through the Honors Program allowed me to improve in many areas of my personal, interpersonal, and academic lives through different assignments and classes I had in the courses. As a science major student, I wanted to focus on and improve in humanistic aspects since it is as important as learning science courses because it allows me to grow as a person. The Honors program enabled and challenged me to think critically and analyze different aspects of our society that I could not have achieved through other humanities classes, it helped me build a community service responsibility, understand and embrace our and others' cultures, form a well-informed opinion and position, and be able to communicate my thoughts in accurate and organized ways to other individuals.
Also, it helped me to improve my communication and leadership skills which I once thought were inexistent, but the Honors program taught me that it is only through proper practice that can be achieved by everyone and that it is imperative that more leaders have to appear, so our thoughts can be shared to the others. The Honors Program helped me see and value the better version I can be every day and how I can help myself and others through the knowledge I have acquired during all my classes.
