I am actively seeking highly motivated undergraduate and Ph.D. students interested in developing advanced mathematics-based machine learning models to address challenges in biomolecular science. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me by email.
Research Interests:
My research bridges mathematics, artificial intelligence, and biology. It spans topological data analysis (TDA), geometric data analysis (GDA), machine learning and deep learning, multiscale modeling, and computational mathematics. I focus on developing and applying mathematics-based artificial intelligence methods to address key challenges in the biological sciences. Some of our work involve following aspects.
Mathematical AI
Topological/Geometric data analysis, multiscale differential geometry modeling, knot data analysis, commutative algebra
AI-aided drug design and discovery
Topological data analysis, natural language processing models(e.g. Transformer, Autoencoder), drug design for addiction treatment (cocaine addiction, opioid use disorder)
Numerical algorithms for partial differential equations
PDE with interface conditions, High order finite difference methods, fast Fourier transform (FFT), multigrid methods.
Single-cell data analysis
Dimensionality reduction
