Homo-MEX 24
Hate speech detection towards the Mexican Spanish speaking LGBT+ population
General description
The HOMO-Mex 2024 shared task targets researchers in natural language processing, hate speech detection, LGBTQ+ advocacy, music analysis, and content moderation to find solutions for the detection of phobic messages in social content. It also appeals to the music industry and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups. Potential industrial applications for the solutions provided in the shared task include social media platforms, music streaming platforms, music labels, and content rating organizations. Detecting LGBTQ+phobic messages opportunely can enhance content moderation and create safer online environments for their users. Music streaming services can utilize these solutions to label songs with LGBT+phobic content, empowering users to make informed choices about the music they consume.
