Homeyra is a BFA student majoring in Contemporary Dance and minoring in Theatre in the faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University. She was born in Iran and started artistic creations in Theatre, Puppetry, and Folk Iranian Dances from early stages of life. After her immigration to Canada, she continued her interest in dance by taking intensive courses from Winnipeg-based dancers in a variety of styles such as Modern, Lyrical, and Jazz. Later on, she began collaborating with the graduate students of Performing Arts from the University of Alberta by taking part in workshops, conferences, and public shows. Her areas of interest currently, while studying in Montreal are how Contemporary Dance and Theatre can inform one another to maximize the aesthetic affect.
