Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, drained
1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce
3 - 4 cups beef broth {Depending on how thick you like your chili}
1 clove minced garlic
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
8 ounces elbow macaroni {Optional-increase beef broth to 5 cups if you add macaroni to turn this into Chili Mac}
Directions
In a large skillet, brown onion with ground beef. Drain.
Add browned beef to a large soup pot, along with kidney beans, tomato sauce, beef broth, garlic, chili powder, cumin and salt.
Bring to a boil and add macaroni if using. Reduce to a simmer, cover and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Taste for seasonings and serve with your choice of toppings.
