How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want ultra-light sleep earbuds with a neckband-style fit, a built-in sleep timer and a 28-hour battery, choose HomeSpot Lightweight; if you need adaptive noise cancelling, hi-res codec support and a clip-on open-ear design for all-day wear, choose EarFun Air Pro 4+.
• HomeSpot Lightweight — biggest strength: Purpose-built for sleep. An ultra-lightweight, silicone in-ear bud with a 28-hour battery, Qualcomm/aptX HD audio and a sleep timer that fades audio out at 30, 60, 90 minutes or 3 hours.
• HomeSpot Lightweight — biggest trade-off: No active noise cancelling (it relies on sound isolation), Bluetooth 5.1 rather than the newest standard, and a design aimed at lying down rather than commuting or taking calls on the move.
• EarFun Air Pro 4+ — biggest strength: A hybrid dual-driver setup (10mm dynamic + balanced armature) with Qualcomm QCC3091, aptX Lossless, LDAC/LC3/LE Audio, adaptive hybrid ANC up to 50dB and a clip-on open-ear fit that never enters your ear canal.
• EarFun Air Pro 4+ — biggest trade-off: It's an open-ear clip design, so it's built for awareness and all-day comfort rather than the sealed, occluded feel a side sleeper may want at night; and it's a more feature-dense product to learn.
• Who each pick is for: HomeSpot Lightweight for side sleepers, travelers and anyone who wants quiet, fading audio to fall asleep to. EarFun Air Pro 4+ for people who want one pair for commuting, calls, translation and long listening sessions with real noise cancelling.
The HomeSpot Lightweight (model JY110-S1) is a sleep-first product, and everything in its spec sheet points that way. It's an in-ear bud with silicone enclosure material and a featherlight build — the whole pitch is comfort you can lie on. If you sleep on your side and normal earbuds dig into your ear or press against the pillow, that's the exact problem this design is trying to solve. The 8mm dynamic driver covers a 20Hz–20,000Hz range at 16 ohm, so it's tuned for the kind of steady, warm audio people use to drift off — sleep sounds, ambient tracks, podcasts at low volume.
Who should buy it: side sleepers, light sleepers who want audio to fall asleep to, frequent travelers, and anyone who wants a set-and-forget sleep audio tool rather than a do-everything earbud. Who should skip it: if you mainly want earbuds for noisy commutes, phone calls or blocking out a loud office, this isn't the tool — there's no active noise cancelling here, only sound isolation, and the sleep-focused fit isn't designed for that kind of use. It also carries a 1-year warranty, which is worth knowing up front.
EarFun Air Pro 4+: Who It's For
The EarFun Air Pro 4+ is the opposite philosophy: a feature-packed everyday earbud that happens to use a clip-on, open-ear format. The headline is the hybrid driver system — a 10mm composite dynamic driver working alongside an ultra-light FeatherBA balanced armature, with an 11-degree angle alignment intended to reduce high-frequency attenuation. In plain terms, that's a design chasing clarity and an accurate soundstage rather than just thump.
The second headline is the codec and chip story. It runs the Qualcomm QCC3091 SoC and is certified for Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless, with support for LDAC, LC3 and LE Audio. For anyone who cares about hi-res streaming, that's a genuinely broad codec list, and it's the kind of thing you notice if you're listening on a phone that supports those formats. Then there's the adaptive hybrid ANC with EarFun QuietSmart 3.0, which detects external noise and adjusts in real time, cancelling ambient sound up to 50dB — a completely different league of noise handling than the HomeSpot's passive isolation.
The fit is the other big fork. The "Clip 2" design uses a C-shaped bridge tested with 20,000+ flexes, a widened bridge with 40° ultra-soft silicone and a 0.5mm nickel-titanium memory wire you can stretch and rotate to your ear shape. Each bud weighs just 5.5g, and nothing goes into your ear canal — no pinching, no pressure. There's also real-time AI translation across 100+ languages through the EarFun Audio App, in both real-time and face-to-face modes.
Who should buy it: commuters, remote workers, travelers, gym-goers and anyone who wants one pair for listening, calls, noise cancelling and translation, and who dislikes the sealed feeling of in-ear buds. Who should skip it: if your priority is falling asleep on your side with audio playing, the open-ear clip format and its awareness-first design aren't aimed at that, and the feature set is more than a pure sleep user needs. Note it's app-dependent for translation, and you'll need the EarFun Audio App updated to the latest version.
• Best for falling asleep with audio → HomeSpot Lightweight. The sleep timer with fade-out and the lightweight silicone in-ear fit are built for exactly that.
• Best for blocking out noise → EarFun Air Pro 4+. Adaptive hybrid ANC up to 50dB versus passive sound isolation only.
• Best for battery on a single charge → HomeSpot Lightweight. A stated 28-hour battery life, which the brand frames as multiple nights of use.
• Best for hi-res audio and codec flexibility → EarFun Air Pro 4+. aptX Lossless, LDAC, LC3 and LE Audio over the QCC3091, versus aptX HD on the HomeSpot.
• Best for side sleepers and pillow use → HomeSpot Lightweight. Featherlight, in-ear, silicone, no hard shell pressing into your ear.
• Best for all-day wear and open-ear comfort → EarFun Air Pro 4+. 5.5g per bud, C-shaped bridge, memory wire, nothing inserted into the canal.
• Best for calls and travel communication → EarFun Air Pro 4+. Real-time AI translation across 100+ languages plus adaptive ANC makes it the more versatile travel companion.
• Best for a simple, single-purpose sleep tool → HomeSpot Lightweight. A Quick Action sleep timer and touch controls, without a deep feature stack to manage.
If I had to pick one, I'd buy the EarFun Air Pro 4+ — in my opinion it's the more capable product for the way most people actually use earbuds. The adaptive 50dB ANC, the hybrid dual-driver setup, aptX Lossless/LDAC support and the clip-on open-ear fit cover commuting, work, travel and long listening sessions in one pair, and the 5.5g buds make all-day wear realistic. That said, the HomeSpot Lightweight is the smarter buy if sleep is your single goal: the 28-hour battery, featherlight silicone build and fading sleep timer are purpose-built for side sleepers, and no amount of ANC beats a design made for lying down. Buy for your main use case, not for the longest feature list — and check the current price on Amazon before you commit.
In my opinion, HomeSpot Lightweight. It's an ultra-lightweight silicone in-ear bud designed for sleep, so it's made to be comfortable against a pillow. The EarFun Air Pro 4+ uses a clip-on open-ear design aimed at all-day awareness, not lying down.
Correct. The EarFun Air Pro 4+ has adaptive hybrid ANC with QuietSmart 3.0, cancelling ambient noise up to 50dB. The HomeSpot Lightweight relies on sound isolation only, so it quiets your surroundings passively rather than actively.
HomeSpot Lightweight, with a stated 28-hour battery life. The EarFun Air Pro 4+ spec sheet doesn't list a battery figure, so on the numbers we have, the HomeSpot is the one built for multiple nights per charge.
Neither spec sheet lists pricing, so I can't quote a figure for either. Value depends on your use case: HomeSpot for sleep-focused simplicity, EarFun for ANC, hi-res codecs and translation. Check the current price on Amazon for both before deciding.
