If you want immersive, high-fidelity TV audio with a dedicated transmitter and massive battery life for long movie marathons, choose HomeSpot JM320; if you need ultra-low latency gaming performance in an open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings while playing on consoles or VR headsets, choose Cleer ARC 3.
As someone who has spent years dissecting the specs and features of audio gear specifically for audiophiles who demand precision without compromise, I know how difficult it is to find the right balance between sound quality, comfort, and connectivity. You are likely standing at a crossroads, torn between a traditional over-ear solution designed for home entertainment and a cutting-edge open-ear option built for active gaming and mobility. Both of these devices claim to offer premium experiences, but they serve fundamentally different lifestyles. One is a dedicated home theater anchor, while the other is a versatile gaming companion. This comparison cuts through the marketing fluff to help you decide which path leads to better audio satisfaction based on what you actually do with your headphones every day.
• HomeSpot JM320: Offers superior 60-hour battery life and a dedicated AV transmitter for zero-latency TV audio, but sacrifices portability as it is an over-ear design intended for stationary use.
• Cleer ARC 3: Delivers exceptional 50-hour total playtime with an open-ear form factor and Dolby Atmos support, yet lacks the physical isolation and dedicated optical connectivity of a true home theater system.
• The Verdict: The HomeSpot JM320 is the clear choice for serious home cinema enthusiasts and those prioritizing audio fidelity over movement, while the Cleer ARC 3 is best for gamers and mobile users who need situational awareness and multi-device switching.
The HomeSpot JM320 is engineered primarily for the person who treats their living room as a dedicated listening environment. Its core strength lies in its ability to bridge the gap between legacy TV outputs and modern wireless standards without sacrificing audio integrity. If you are an audiophile looking for the best neckband headphones for audiophiles (or rather, the best over-ear solution) to enjoy your favorite films and music without the distraction of lag, this unit delivers. The inclusion of the BA210 v2 Auracast transmitter means you aren't just buying a pair of headphones; you are getting a complete broadcast system that supports up to three TVs simultaneously. This is a game-changer for households with multiple viewing zones or those who frequently switch between a main TV, a secondary monitor, and a gaming console.

The battery specifications here are nothing short of impressive. With a claimed average life of 60 hours on a single charge, this device eliminates the anxiety of running out of power mid-movie. The charging time is equally efficient, taking only one hour to reach full capacity. This level of endurance makes it ideal for long-haul travelers who might spend days away from a charger, or simply for the casual viewer who wants to charge once a week and forget about it. Furthermore, the lightweight design, weighing less than 7 ounces, ensures that even during extended sessions, the weight distribution feels manageable compared to heavier competitors.
However, this product is not for everyone. Because it relies on a dedicated transmitter connected via Optical, RCA, or AUX cables, it is inherently tied to your home setup. You cannot simply pop them into your pocket and walk around the block expecting the same seamless connection you would get with a standard Bluetooth headset. The "plug-and-play" nature is fantastic for the TV, but it requires that specific hardware setup to function at its peak. Additionally, while the sound isolation is present, it does not offer active noise cancellation in the traditional sense; it relies on the physical seal of the over-ear cups to block ambient noise. If you are looking for best noise canceling neckband headphones for audiophiles that actively silence the world regardless of fit, this might feel like a step back, though the passive isolation provided by the oval earpiece shape is quite effective for blocking general household chatter.
On the other side of the aisle sits the Cleer ARC 3, a device that redefines what a gaming headset can be. This isn't just a pair of earbuds; it is a specialized tool for the gamer who refuses to sacrifice safety or comfort for immersion. The defining feature here is the open-ear design, which allows you to hear your game audio while remaining fully aware of your physical surroundings. This makes it arguably the best bluetooth open ear headphones for audiophiles who prioritize spatial awareness during gameplay. Whether you are racing in VR, battling in a first-person shooter on PS5, or exploring the metaverse on Meta Quest, the open design prevents the claustrophobic feeling of closed-back cans while still delivering rich, detailed sound.
The audio engine powering the ARC 3 is robust, featuring 16.2mm drivers and support for Dolby Atmos audio. This technology creates a spatial soundscape that places you right in the center of the action, enhancing the depth and clarity of footsteps, explosions, and dialogue. The integration of Snapdragon Sound ensures that the transmission remains crisp and high-definition, minimizing any compression artifacts that often plague wireless audio. The latency is equally critical, clocking in under 30 milliseconds, which is fast enough to make competitive gaming viable without the frustration of audio lagging behind visual cues.
Another major advantage is the versatility of its connectivity. Supporting both Bluetooth 5.4 and a 2.4GHz USB-C dongle, the ARC 3 offers a dual-mode approach that maximizes compatibility. You can connect to a PC, a console, or a phone simultaneously, thanks to multipoint pairing. This means you can be listening to music on your laptop while instantly switching to voice chat on your console without fumbling with settings. The carrying case itself is a piece of engineering, offering UV-C sterilization and an FHD display that shows battery levels and EQ settings at a glance. With a total playtime of 50 hours (10 hours in the buds plus 40 hours in the case), it rivals the standalone longevity of the HomeSpot, making it perfect for marathon gaming sessions or all-day work-from-home setups. However, the trade-off is that the open-ear design naturally lets in more ambient noise, meaning it won't provide the same level of acoustic isolation as a sealed cup.
• Best for Battery Life → HomeSpot JM320: With 60 hours of continuous playback versus 50 hours, the HomeSpot edges out slightly for pure endurance.
• Best for Low Latency Gaming → Cleer ARC 3: While both boast sub-30ms latency, the ARC 3's optimized 2.4GHz dongle provides a more direct link for competitive gaming on consoles.
• Best for Home Theater Setup → HomeSpot JM320: The included BA210 v2 transmitter and support for Optical/RCA connections make it a turnkey solution for TVs.
• Best for Multi-Device Switching → Cleer ARC 3: Multipoint pairing allows seamless transitions between two Bluetooth devices, whereas the HomeSpot requires manual switching or a dedicated transmitter per TV.
• Best for Situational Awareness → Cleer ARC 3: The open-ear design keeps you safe outdoors and alert indoors, a feature impossible with over-ear cups.
• Best for Audio Isolation → HomeSpot JM320: The over-ear physical seal provides significantly better passive noise reduction than the open-air design of the Cleer.
• Best for Comfort During Long Sessions → Tie: Both are lightweight (HomeSpot <7oz, Cleer ~130g), but preference depends on whether you prefer clamping pressure or an open fit.
• Best for Spatial Audio Features → Cleer ARC 3: Explicit support for Dolby Atmos head tracking gives it an edge in creating immersive 3D soundscapes.
After analyzing the specifications, connectivity options, and intended use cases for both devices, my recommendation leans heavily toward the HomeSpot JM320 if your primary goal is enjoying movies and music at home with high fidelity. The combination of the dedicated transmitter, the 60-hour battery, and the 24-bit/48kHz audio capability creates a cohesive ecosystem for the home listener. It feels like a purpose-built tool for the audiophile who values a clean, wired-quality signal delivered wirelessly. However, if your lifestyle revolves around gaming, VR, or needing to stay aware of your environment, the Cleer ARC 3 becomes the undeniable winner due to its open-ear benefits and advanced Dolby Atmos integration. In my opinion, for audiophiles who prioritize soundstage and detail over isolation, the HomeSpot JM320 offers a more refined, theater-like experience, whereas the Cleer ARC 3 is a marvel of modern gaming utility.
Neither device is technically a "neckband" in the traditional sense; the HomeSpot JM320 is an over-ear headphone, and the Cleer ARC 3 is a true wireless open-ear earbud. However, both are top-tier choices for their respective categories regarding audio fidelity and feature sets.
The HomeSpot JM320 offers 60 hours of battery life on a single charge, while the Cleer ARC 3 offers 10 hours in the buds with an additional 40 hours provided by the charging case, totaling 50 hours.
Yes, the Cleer ARC 3 includes features for crystal clear calls and supports adaptive noise cancellation, making it suitable for voice communication, though the HomeSpot is optimized primarily for media consumption.
