This privacy policy applies to the mobile app "Home Inventory: Room Pins" (shown
on the home screen as "Home Inventory: Rooms") on Android and iOS:

OVERVIEW
Home Inventory: Room Pins lets you record your belongings room by room: you
choose a photo of each room, pin items on it and enter their details. Totals and
the HTML asset statement are calculated on your device. The app does not require
an account, and we do not sell personal data. It uses Google services for
analytics, crash reporting, app configuration and advertising, as described
below.
PHOTOS
When you add a room, relink a room photo or add an item photo, the app opens the
system photo picker. Only the photo you select is made available to the app;
depending on your device and system version, the system may ask you to allow
photo access. The app copies the selected image into its private storage on your
device and uses that copy. The original in your photo library is not changed or
deleted. The app does not upload your photos to us. Photo files can contain
metadata, such as when or where a picture was taken; the app does not read or
use it, but it may remain in the stored copy and in an asset statement you
share.
The app does not use the camera and never asks for camera access, even though a
camera permission entry may be listed for the photo-picker component it
includes.
LOCAL DATA
The following are stored in the app's storage on your device:
- Rooms: the name you give each room, its photo copy and when it was created or
changed.
- Items: name (up to 80 characters), unit value and currency, the pin position
on the room photo, category, quantity, purchase date, serial or model (up to
60 characters), notes (up to 300 characters), an optional item photo copy and
when it was created or changed. There is no fixed limit on the number of rooms
or items.
- An item you are still editing, so it can be restored if the app closes; it is
cleared when you save or close the editor.
- When and at which revision you last generated an asset statement.
- If you updated from an older version, the earlier copy of your inventory data
from before the upgrade.
- App state such as a session counter and review-prompt timing, and cached ad
and "More apps" configuration.
When you tap "Generate & share HTML", the app creates one HTML file on your
device that contains your room photos, item photos and item details, and opens
the system share sheet. Whatever you choose there (for example saving the file
or sending it) is handled by the app you pick. The last generated file stays in
the app's cache folder until it is replaced or removed by the system.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
- Google Firebase Analytics: app usage events (for example app launch, session
count, item opened, saved, updated or deleted, statement generated or shared,
save or export failures with a short reason code, menu use, review-prompt
attempts and the tracking-permission result), ad revenue events, device and
technical information and an app-instance identifier, used to understand how
the app is used. Room and item names, values, notes, serial numbers, dates and
photos are not sent as event data.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports and technical diagnostics, used to
keep the app stable.
- Google Cloud Firestore: the app downloads app configuration (such as ad
settings and a list of our other apps). It does not upload your inventory.
- Google AdMob: banner, interstitial, app-open and native ads. AdMob may process
the advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA, where
permitted), device and network information, ad interaction data and IP address
(which may be used to estimate approximate location, even though the app has
no location permission), used to show and measure ads, prevent fraud and
diagnose ad delivery.
- Ad mediation partners: the app includes the Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) and
InMobi adapters for Google AdMob mediation. When AdMob selects one of them to
serve an ad, that partner may receive similar ad-request data (advertising
identifier where permitted, device, network and IP information, and consent
signals) to show and measure that ad.
Apart from files you share yourself and device backups, the app sends data
automatically only to the services above, for the purposes above. We use
these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party
service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal
protection of that data as stated in this policy. See:

ADS CONSENT & TRACKING
When the app starts, it first uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to
check whether consent is needed and, where required (for example in the EEA and
UK), to ask for your advertising choices. If personalized ads are not allowed,
any ads the app requests are non-personalized; if the consent result does not
allow ad requests, the app shows no ads.
On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is requested only after that
step, and only when personalized ads are allowed or no consent is required. If
you do not allow tracking, the IDFA is not available to the app or its ad
partners.
If the consent step fails, the app does not show the iOS tracking prompt and
does not request ads for the rest of that session.
Where Google requires it, the app menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens
the consent form so you can change your choice.
Analytics and crash reporting are not controlled by these ad choices.
PERMISSIONS
The app uses the system photo picker as described above. It does not ask for
location, microphone, contacts or notification permissions. It uses internet
access for ads, analytics and app configuration, and vibration for button
feedback.
DATA RETENTION & DELETION
- Local data: in the app you can delete an item ("Delete item"), remove an item
photo ("Remove photo") and delete a room once it has no items ("Delete empty
room"); the app then removes its own copy of the related photo. There is no
single "delete all" button. Uninstalling the app removes its local data from
this device; existing device or cloud backups are handled separately (see
below).
- Files you have shared or saved outside the app are not affected by these
controls.
- Data processed by Google Firebase, AdMob and mediation partners is kept
according to those services' retention settings and policies. Uninstalling the
app does not delete data that was already sent to them.
- To request deletion of data associated with your use of the app, email us at
the address below. Because we do not ask for your name, email or account, we
may only be able to act on data we can link to you from the information you
provide, and we will explain any limits in our reply.
STORAGE & CONTROL
- Android: if device backup is enabled, app data (including room and item photo
copies) may be included in your Google backup and restored on reinstall.
- iOS: app data may be included in your iCloud or device backups according to
your device settings.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings > Google (or
Privacy) > Ads.
- iOS: you can change tracking permission in Settings > Privacy & Security >
Tracking.
SECURITY
Your inventory and photo copies are kept in the app's private storage area,
which the operating system protects from other apps; the app does not add its
own encryption, so protect your device with a passcode. An asset statement you
share is an ordinary file and is readable by whoever receives it. Data sent to
Google services is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. No method
of transmission or storage is completely secure.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Totals are the sum of the values you entered (unit value × quantity) for each
currency. They are not an appraisal, a valuation or a guaranteed replacement
value, and the asset statement is not an insurance document. Keep your own
copies of important records; the app's statement history is not a backup.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above will change
accordingly.
