HomeCount Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 September 2026
HomeCount (“we”, “the app”) is a home inventory app for Android (package com.homecount.inventory). This policy explains what data we collect and why.
Information we collect
Account: if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, and email through Firebase Authentication.
Inventory: item names, brands, barcodes, quantities, storage location, categories, expiry dates, prices, and photos you add.
Camera and photos: used only when you scan a barcode or photograph a product. Photos may be sent to our servers so we can identify the product and save it to your inventory.
Device information: app version, language, country (from the SIM or network if available), and basic device details (brand, model, OS) so the service can work correctly.
Home sharing: if you share your home with family, members you invite can see and update the same inventory.
Notifications: we may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send service messages.
How we use it We use this data to run HomeCount: sign you in, identify products, store your inventory, share it with people you invite, and improve the app. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Google Firebase (authentication and messaging)
Our HomeCount / KitchenPal backend, hosted on Google Cloud, which stores your inventory
People you explicitly invite to your home
Retention and deletion We keep your account and inventory while you use the app. You can remove items in the app. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at YOUR-EMAIL@example.com.
Children HomeCount is not directed at children under 13.
Changes We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
