The hardest fun you'll ever have!
With limited time and resources, teams of students, with the support of adult mentors, build and program robots to perform challenging tasks in competition with other teams. Students can also be a part of the business aspect of the team. They raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork and presentation skills, and perform community outreach. In addition to learning valuable STEM and life skills, participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.
Information for New Students
We are FIRST Team 1305, a robotics team that strives to inspire STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) among students. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is geared towards high school aged students who build robots and engage in entrepreneurial and outreach activities. FIRST Team 1305 has something for everyone: building robots and event playing fields, writing, presenting, painting, designing, to name a few. We are based out of Canadore College Commerce Court Campus where we have weekly meetings to build robots and plan events. Kickoff (where FIRST releases the new challenge for the year) starts in January. From kickoff day we meet more frequently to build a brand new robot and prepare for all aspects of competition.
Competition is the best part of joining FIRST Team 1305: excitement, dancing, socializing, strategizing and cheering. You may think it’s all about building a robot and that’s part of the team, but there is also business, programming, and creative projects. FIRST Team 1305 truly is an all-around experience. If you like arts, design, manufacturing, writing, presenting or even dancing FIRST Team 1305 is the team for you!
