Read 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12 out loud. As you read, invite kids to draw or write on blank paper what they think of when they hear the words.

After reading this, what do you think pleases God?

Why do you think it's hard to do what pleases God? Guide students to think about the sin in their life -- selfishness, impatience, etc. Guide students to complete the box on the back of the activity sheet.

What can you ask God to help you with so that you can do what pleases Him? Help students think of simple, tangible ways to do what pleases God. (Honoring parents, having a loving attitude to friends, having patience for siblings, etc.) Guide students to complete the HEART on the back of the activity sheet.

Ask for volunteers to pray for themselves or for their friends in the room.
