We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and secure your information in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and Google Play Developer Policies. 

1. About Us

My Shop is an Android application designed to help  shopkeepers manage sales and purchase entry records.
👉 This app is strictly for record-keeping and does not handle real money, financial transactions, loans, or credit disbursement of any kind.

2. Permissions and Their Purpose

We request the following permissions to provide specific app features. All permissions are optional, and you can revoke them anytime via your device settings.

• INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  Enables data sync with Google Firebase Firestore and ad network connections (e.g., Google AdMob). All data transfers are encrypted.

• RECORD_AUDIO
  Used for the optional speech-to-text feature. Audio is processed locally on your device. No audio is recorded, stored, or uploaded. This feature requires your explicit permission.

• READ_CONTACTS
  Allows shopkeepers to select contacts to simplify customer record entry. Only selected contact information is accessed with your consent.

• AD_ID
  Used by Google AdMob to display personalized ads. Collects anonymized device data, such as the Advertising ID, to serve relevant ads. No personal identifiers like name or phone number are accessed.

• CAMERA
  Enables QR code scanning to onboard or verify customer records. Used only during scanning. No images or data are stored.

• CALL_PHONE
  Allows shopkeepers to directly call customers from the app. Calls are user-initiated. No call logs or recordings are stored. This permission is optional and revocable.

3. Data We Collect

We collect the following data to provide and improve our app’s functionality:

A. Personal Information

• Name, email, and phone number (used for login and account management).

• Shop and customer names (entered manually by users).

• Transaction details (entered manually for record-keeping purposes).

B. Device and Usage Data

• Device ID, OS version (for compatibility and performance optimization).

• IP address and app activity (to enhance security and user experience).

C. Microphone Access

• Used only when the speech-to-text feature is activated.

• Audio is processed locally and is not stored or transmitted.

D. Advertising and Analytics

• Google AdMob collects anonymized device data (e.g., Advertising ID, IP address, coarse location) to serve personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.

• Firebase Analytics collects non-personal, aggregate app usage data (e.g., screen views, session duration) to improve app performance.

E. Cloud Storage

• Customer data, transactions, and shop records are stored securely on Google Firebase Firestore.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Manage and display sales and purchase entries.

• Enable optional features like voice input and QR code scanning.

• Generate local PDF reports (saved only on your device).

• Analyze usage via Firebase Analytics to improve app performance.

• Display personalized ads via Google AdMob.

• Comply with applicable legal requirements, such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with:

• Google Firebase Firestore: For secure cloud storage of customer data, transactions, and shop records.

• Google AdMob: For displaying ads using anonymized device data (e.g., Advertising ID). For more details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

• Firebase Analytics: To analyze non-personal, aggregate usage data for app improvement.

• Government Authorities: Only if legally required by court order or regulation under applicable laws.

All data sharing is conducted responsibly and in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and Google Play policies.

6. Phone Number and OTP Authentication

We use your phone number solely for login and authentication via One-Time Password (OTP), securely handled by Google Firebase Authentication.

• Your phone number is not stored on our servers and is processed securely by Firebase only for authentication.

• It is not shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.

• The OTP is sent via SMS and used only once to verify your identity. We may use Google’s SMS Retriever API to automatically detect and verify OTPs without accessing your SMS inbox.

7. Advertising with Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display personalized advertisements.

• AdMob collects anonymized device data, such as Advertising ID, IP address, and coarse (city-level) location, to serve relevant ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.

• No personal identifiers, such as your name or phone number, are accessed unless explicitly provided.

• You can opt out of personalized ads via your device settings (“Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android or “Limit Ad Tracking” on iOS) or at [https://adssettings.google.com].

• If you opt out, you may still see non-personalized ads, which may use cookies or identifiers for frequency capping, aggregated reporting, or fraud prevention.

8. Data Security & Retention

• All data is encrypted and stored securely on Google Firebase servers.

• PDFs generated by the app are saved only on your device using the Android system file picker.

• If you delete your account, your associated data will be permanently removed upon request, subject to legal requirements.

• We regularly update our security practices to protect your data.

9. User Consent

We request sensitive permissions only when necessary. You can grant or deny them at any time. If denied:

• Microphone: Speech-to-text feature will not work.

• Camera: QR code scanning will be disabled.

• Contacts: You cannot select customers from your contact list.

• Call Phone: You cannot initiate calls from the app.

• AD_ID: Personalized ads will be disabled, but non-personalized ads may still be shown.

Permissions can be managed via your device’s settings.

10. Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If such data is found, it will be deleted immediately in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play’s Families Policy. 11. ESME QR Code Feature

This optional feature allows shopkeepers to:

• Easily onboard customers.

• Verify customer records.
  ✅ Uses your device camera only during scanning.
  ❌ Does not share any data with third-party apps or services.

12. Important Notes

• The app does not handle real financial transactions, loans, money transfers, or banking services.

• It is a record-keeping tool for individual shopkeepers.

• No business registration, GST, or institutional licenses are required.

• Designed to help small businesses manage daily sales records, not act as a financial service provider.

13. Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect non-personal, technical, and usage data, such as:

• Screen views.

• Device type.

• Session duration.
  We do not collect names, phone numbers, or personal contact information via analytics.

14. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications about app updates, reminders, or important communication.

• FCM uses an anonymous device token to identify your device for notifications.

• This token does not contain personally identifiable information (e.g., name, phone number, or email).

• You can disable notifications anytime via your device settings.

15. About the Developer

My Shop is developed and maintained by an independent Android developer, not by any company or financial institution.

• The goal is to provide useful tools for Indian shopkeepers.

• No data is collected beyond what is explicitly mentioned in this policy.

• User privacy and data security are top priorities.

16. Policy Updates

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in app features, legal requirements, or third-party services.

• You will be notified via the app about significant changes.
