In 1992 Ngapakihi 1W3 section 1 was put into a Marae reservation by Ngapipi o te Rangi Herewini and Mark Koro Cribb for the common purpose for the descendants and beneficiaries of Ngati Uenuku, Ngati Patutokotoko and Rangitautahi connecting the people back to their Whenua, Awa, Mana and their Matauranga Maori. The geographic boundary beginning from the heart of Ruapehu disbursing down many tributaries including the Makotuku, Mangatiti and Maunganui-o-te-Ao which flows west connecting with the Whanganui river.
This website provides information about the history and origins of the respective hapu and the wider connections and relationship with the whanaunga within the middle and upper reachers of Whanganui and Manganui-o-te-Ao. Key events, activities, contact persons for the Marae and a registration page to enhance communication and engage with whanau members on all matters related to Marae development, Hapu/Iwi Hauora and wananga initiatives in alignment to Iwi and marae strategic goals for our people.
