New York City Urban Hike
New York City Urban Hike
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, Troop 4 Scouts visited New York City once again for another "Urban Hike". The day started with a cruise on the Staten Island Ferry passing by the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor. We then hiked up through Battery Park City and visited a major financial institution where we learned about finance and investing while enjoying the views from the 43rd floor of the building just across from the Freedom Tower. We headed over and paid our respects at the 9/11 Memorial before heading to the subway were we traveled up to Columbus Circle. We walked over to Central Park and found a great picnic spot for lunch. Next stop was the Central Park Zoo, as well as several other park attractions as we crossed from the east to west side of the park, ending at Strawberry Fields. Gray's Papaya, a NYC classic, was our dinner stop for delicious hot dogs, and then we headed to Rockefeller Center and a visit to the Nintendo store before heading back for a ferry ride back towards home. We logged 10.4 miles and some great Scouting memories! It was a great day of sightseeing, hiking, and fellowship!

Biking 25 Miles Down the Lehigh Gorge Trail
On the weekend of September 25-27, Troop 4 persevered to complete a 25 mile ride down the Lehigh Gorge Trail from White Haven to Jim Thorpe. Conditions were far from ideal (the Nor'easter was pounding the East Coast and we were close enough to feel the effects), with rain so hard sometimes you couldn’t see the trail, the wet sand on the trail got everywhere, and we were soaked all day. Despite all of this, the group remained “cheerful” and they showed what they are made of, making the adult leaders very proud of their accomplishment. It's trips like this that definitely become a character building event. Another wonderful Scouting memory and a great story for the boys to share about their experiences.

On Tuesday, August 4, 2026 the boys from Troop 4 represented Scouting in Morrisville at National Night Out 2026. We were happy to see such a great turnout representing the pride of Morrisville. Our Smores station was a hit, and we ran out of chocolate as a result, but not before many visitors enjoyed a campfire favorite!

On the weekend of June 5-7, 2026, Troop 4 traveled up to White Haven, PA to enjoy the sites at Hickory Run State Park. We visited the park's famous Boulder Field, and hike both the "Shades of Death Trail" as well as the trail leading to Hawk Falls. The boys did a great job on the hike and in the campsite, and as always showed great Scout Spirit!

A little rain couldn't dampen the spirit of Morrisville! On Monday, May 25, 2026, Troop 4 was proud to march alongside Cub Scout Pack 4 in the annual Morrisville Memorial Day Parade. We want to extend a big thank you to the community for turning out in the rain to support the parade and Scouts and, most importantly, to honor the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We are proud to serve and be a part of the Morrisville community!

"Cheerful Service" Paying Our Respects on Memorial Day Weekend
Cheerful Service! Boy Scouts and leaders from Troop 4 spent the morning of
May 23, 2026 performing cheerful service at a Spring Cleanup event at Holy Trinity Cemetery. In addition to the cleanup, we also placed flags on the graves of veterans in honor of Memorial Day and their service. And of course, a Scout is Reverent, so we said a prayer together for all those we remember at our cemetery.

Woodbadge Beading Ceremony
Troop 4 held a Court of Honor celebration on Thursday, March 26th where we celebrated our Scouts' achievements and rank advancement. We also conducted an AOL Crossover with our friends in Cub Scout Pack 4 where both Joey and Johnny crossed over and were welcomed into the Troop. And to add to the festivities, we celebrated Troop Committee Chair's completion of her Wood Badge ticket and the earning of her Wood Badge beads. And of course, "The Pizza Man" sing along was a must!
Troop 4 held a Court of Honor celebration on Thursday, March 26th where we celebrated our Scouts' achievements and rank advancement. PA Farm Show and Hershey's Chocolate World Tour
For the 2nd year in a row we sought the opportunity to pose with 1000+ pounds of sculpted butter! Learned lots about the resources of the great state of Pennsylvania and also about its agriculture (and having a lot of fun) at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg on January 17, 2026. We also made a stop at Hershey's Chocolate World on the way home for a tour and some free chocolate, and enjoyed a meal together at Chik-Fil-A.

Christmas Pizza Party
On December 18, 2025, the boys of Holy Trinity Troop 4 joined Holy Trinity Cub Scout Pack 4 for a joint Christmas Party celebration at Mannino's Family Restaurant in Morrisville. Scouts made their own pizzas (thanks to Vinny at Mannino's) and enjoyed a great meal, fellowship, and participated in a gift exchange. It was a great time, and thanks to the Cub and Pack leadership for organizing a great event. Special thanks to Mannino's Family Restaurant in Morrisville as well!

On December 21, 2025 the boys of Holy Trinity Troop 4 joined the Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus Father Joseph D. Gallagher Council 3673 to distribute Christmas presents to nearly 40 families. Thanks to the Holy Trinity Food Pantry volunteers who helped organize and pack the presents over the prior few weeks, and thanks those who took an angel from the Parish giving tree and donated an item for Christmas. Your generosity was felt throughout our community!

Troop 4 Scouts braved the cold and blustery weather on Saturday, December 6, 2025, when they visited New York City for an "Urban Hike". The list of attractions visited was long, including the Staten Island Ferry passing by the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, Castle Clinton in Battery Park, Bowling Green, the Charging Bull statue, Federal Hall, Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange, Trinity Church, Brookfield Place, the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial Pools, the Oculus, City Hall, Chinatown, Little Italy, NYU and Washington Square Park, Little Island, the High Line, the Vessel in Hudson Yards, midtown passing by Madison Square Garden, the Empire State building and Macy's Herald Square, Times Square and Broadway, Rockefeller Center and the Christmas Tree, the Saks Fifth Avenue light show, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Grand Central Station, ending with a ride on the number 5 subway back to Bowling Green and the ferry. If that sounds like a lot, it's because it was - 15.6 miles of hiking to get all those stops in. It was a great day of sightseeing, hiking, and fellowship!

Troop 4 Scouts were blessed with the opportunity to tour the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday, November 15, 2025, where we met up with a Sean, a midshipman who showed us around and shared the experience cadets enjoy while studying at the Academy. Afterwards it was off to Navy Football Scout Day 2025 where we enjoyed watching Navy beat Southern Florida with excitement right up until the end of the game. We also were able to camp with other Scouts at the Elks Camporee nearby where we were able to enjoy some fun and fellowship. God Bless the cadets at the Naval Academy (where they gave us a warm Scout welcome), and God Bless all who serve!

Billy and Johnny did a great job representing Troop 4 and Pack 4 by marching in the parade while waving to the many spectators and giving out lots of candy. Great job, boys!

Troop 4 Scouts recruitment event on Thursday, October 23, 2025 as we invited perspective Scouts to join us on a hike along the Delaware Canal in Morrisville. It was a great night for a hike as we travelled the canal and the levee alongside Williamson Park and back home to Holy Trinity Church. The boys of Troop 4 learned about the origins and functions of the canal and tow path as well as the levee, and did a good turn by policing for trash along the route. We even visited the tree we planted together in Williamson Park a few weeks ago. Another great Troop event with our Scouts performing cheerful service while enjoying the fellowship. Great job, boys!

Troop 4 Scouts enjoyed a weekend camping trip together at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation in Schuykill Haven, PA suring the weekend of October 17-19, 2025. We hiked from the campsite on a trail that leads directly to a section of the Appalachian Trail (aka the "AT"), where we also hiked and enjoyed lunch on the trail. We enjoyed a breakfast with "bulls-eyes" and bacon, and some pasta for dinner before enjoying a campfire and some fellowship. We also squoze in a quick trip to Cabelas in Hamburg for the boys to enjoy a visit to the retail wonder of the world when it comes to the outdoors. Weather wize we were fortunate with just a bit of rain during a cold Friday night (it got down to 40 degrees while we tent camped), but Saturday evening was a bit milder, and both nights made for great sleeping weather. The boys did a great job on the hike and in the campsite, and as always showed great Scout Spirit!

Troop 4 worked hard today towards making Morrisville more beautiful on Saturday, September 27, 2025 with the Morrisville Environmental Advisory Council , the Guardian Angels Foundation and Mayor Wallace by planting new trees in Williamson Park as well as along Hamilton Blvd. We had great weather and enjoyed each other’s company while contributing to this project!

One thing the boys made clear was their love of fishing, so we headed out to Tyler State Park in Newtown on August 24. 2025 for a day of hiking, fishing and fellowship. After a short hike to explore the park and scout out fishing sites we cooked lunch and then headed to the Neshaminy Creek (after some unfortunate run-ins with the bees). We're happy to report that all of our Scouts fishing that day caught fish, and we couldn't have been blessed with more perfect weather. It was a great day to enjoy the outdoors together!

We improvised after our trip to Hickory Run was cancelled, and instead headed out to Tyler State Park on June 28, 2025 to work with one of our Scouts on his Tenderfoot requirements including axe, saw and pocketknife safety, outdoor skills, and cooking, and even had him earn his "Totin Chip". It was a great day where we explored the park, learned about outdoor skills and safety, enjoyed the outdoors together and had some fun!

Troop 4 Scouts enjoyed a visit to the sweetest place on earth - Hershey Chocolate World and HersheyPark, on the weekend of May 30 - June 1, 2025. We camped we visited Bashore Scout Reservation in nearby Jonestown, PA. Lots of adventures on this trip - a deer bumping our car, a torrential rainstorm, and a slow leak in on of our tires made the trip interesting for sure. Luckily the ranger at Bashore let us occupy the summer camp tents already set up for summer camp, eliminating the need to set up camp and get soaked on Friday night, which also kept us off the ground and dry. Despite some challenges, our Scout spirit allowed us to overcome the adversity to enjoy a great weekend together!

Troop 4 Scouts along with our friends at Cub Scout Pack 4 volunteered to conduct a Spring Cleanup at Holy Trinity Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Scouts and their families cleaned up, replaced worn flags, and practicing "A Scout is Reverent" they also said a prayer for those resting at the cemetery.
Troop 4 Scouts along with our friends at Cub Scout Pack 4 volunteered to conduct a Spring Cleanup at Holy Trinity Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Scouts and their families cleaned up, replaced worn flags, and practicing "A Scout is Reverent" they also said a prayer for those resting at the cemetery.

Troop 4 Scouts volunteered to assist at the 2025 Washington Crossing Council Cubarama event at Ockanickon Scout Reservation on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Troop 4 ran the "Jousting Station", where Cubs rode a horse and used their lance/sword (both made out of pool noodles) to capture rings in a relay race. They also had fun trying to see who could toss their lance the furthest, and some even expended some of their energy on Anthony with their swords. Lots of smiling faces, all due to the cheerful service of Troop 4!

Hiking, Outdoor Skills, and Fun!
Troop 4 Scouts enjoyed their first camping trip together as a Troop at Quail Hill Scout Reservation during the weekend of April 26-28, 2025. We hiked to and around Kiely Pond, and visited the island which was used at one point as an Order of the Arrow ceremonial area. We also brushed up on our outdoor skills, including building an axe yard where the boys in attendance all earned their Totin' Chip. We also cooked our meals, learned how to clean up at a campsite, and enjoyed a great campfire program planned by the boys. We did have some rain Saturday, and experienced a chill in the evening into Sunday morning, but nothing could stop the boys from achieving and showing great Scout Spirit!

Troop 4 Scouts volunteered to assist with deliveries for the Holy Trinity Easter Lily Project on Good Friday, April 18, 2025. Holy Trinity CYO sponsors a tradition of delivering Easter lilies to parishioners who have lost loved ones during the past church year. Presenting these beautiful flowers to fellow parish members lets them know that their Holy Trinity family remembers their loss and reminds them that their loved one is with our Lord in everlasting life. It was a great opportunity for the boys to earn service hours towards rank advancement in a very thoughtful and meaningful way.

Celebrating Our Achievements
Holy Trinity Boy Scout Troop 4 last night held our first Fall Court of Honor on December 19, 2024 to celebrate the achievements of our Scouts. Congrats to Ben and Mateo for earning the Scout Rank, and to Billy, Mateo and Caine for earning the Valley Forge Historical Trail medal during our recent 11-mile hike at Valley Forge. Thanks so much to Monsignor Eckert and Troop 4 leadership, parents, and our special guests, Nick Lapolla, Grand Knight of the Fr. Joseph D. Gallagher Council 3673 of the Knights of Columbus at Holy Trinity, and also the Scouts of Holy Trinity Cub Scout Pack 4 for joining us in the celebration. I'm sure "The Pizza Man" is still stuck in everyone's head today! The future is bright for the boys of Troop 4!

Boy Scout Troop 4 and and Cub Scout Pack 4 teamed up on November 9, 2024 to salute our veterans at the LMT Veterans Day Parade. The boys did a great job marching in the parade while waving to the many spectators and giving out lots of candy. Great job, boys!
