About Me

I grew up in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Ohio. While I'm not a native of Pittsburgh, I've been coming here since I was a little kid and rooting for the Steelers where ever I was, so it was an incredibly easy choice to decide to make Pittsburgh the eventual home for my family.  Between getting a bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College and a masters degree from the University of Pittsburgh, I spent four years teaching English to university students in China. I spent the last three years teaching at Ave Maria Academy in the South Hills. I am excited to be a part of Holy Cross Academy, as I have family ties to the area; St Sebastian was the church I attended when visiting Pittsburgh as a kid, and both my mother and mother-in-law were members of the parish at one point or another.

Outside of teaching, I try to spend as much time as I can outdoors, either out on a hiking trail, or just walking around my neighborhood, usually with my dog and family.  I'm a big fan of the Steelers and Penguins, Everton in the Premier League, and if nothing else is on I might even watch a Pirates game. I love cooking, and my wife (and sometime my daughter) will usually agree that I do a pretty good job trying out new dishes, especially on the second try.
