Prof. Olya’s main areas of research expertise are ‘consumer behavior’ and ‘tourism climate’ with a particular interest in ‘destination marketing’. He is one of the pioneers in application of complexity theory and Qualitative Comparative Analysis to tourism and hospitality research. He is highly skilled in applied statistics, quantitative research methods, and GIS. Dr Olya has effectively contributed to multidisciplinary projects as both PI and a member of the research team. He is Associate Editor of International Journal of Consumer Studies and Journal of Sustainability. He is regularly invited to speak in Italy, South Korea, the Middle East and the UK.
